Why does DazStudio 4.8 take FOREVER to render a simple still?

4.6 rendered stills quickly, after I downloaded 4.8, it takes over an hour-and-a-half just to remder one simple picture still!a

Does 4.8 require a much faster processor?

4.6 was 3Delight only, you are using Iray there - depending on your lighting, and on whether you have an nVidia GPU that will hold the scene, that may be enough to account for the difference. Try switching the engine back to 3Delight in the Render Settings pane.
