Why is My DIM Soooooooooooooo Slow?

Why is my DIM so slow? I have a really fast connection, can stream HD videos etc. For the last week or so the DIM downloads move at dial-up speed. The little meter in the bottom right is at about 22 KB/s right now, ocassionally goes way up then down again. It used to be pretty fast most of the time. I have restarted it a few times and reconnected to internet but it doesn't help. I have the currunt DIM I think, 1.1.0.41.

    Sounds like a block between you and the Daz servers - I've been getting pretty well the full bandwidth of my connection (about 850 KB/s) over the last few days.

    I gave up yesterday as it swung continually from 900+ KB/s to 3,2,1, 0 and failed on every attempt.

    is too hot to render anyway, today will be 44°C, is a heatwave here surprise

    use it to test your connection; you need to pick one as close to Daz as you can find, because you have no idea where the problem is, if indeed there is one; gliches occur.

    Test one nearer to you, to see what you should be getting when closer, but the further away, and the more unusual the website, the more likely they are to be slow to respond.

    I finally downloaded one thing at a time today, adding to queue is impossible

    Did you try near yourself?

    Basically your nearest city; keep screen shots as it's evidence to give to your ISP, when you tell em they sux. :)

    This presumes it's not something on your machine causing problems.

    I personally think it is my PC and something choking DIM as everything else downloads OK

    not geeky so no idea, certainly other devices on wifi perform fine like iPad and smart TV updates.

    manual downloads from DAZ ok

    grabbed ipad app am slower than 51% of Australia but then I am using crappy old phonelines with ADSL

    I've also found it to be slower over the past few days also. Even using it offline. Do you clear out your downloaded items after installing them? If not I wonder if that could be causing some delay as the DIM is scanning through all that data checking to see what's new. I've just changed PC and on a fresh Win 10 drive downloaded all my content. About 30 hours later all my content was ready to install!!!
