Iray render weird grey strokes

Here is a screenshot of a little experimenting with a floorplane (cosy room). The diffuse map is plain white i get the same result without a diffuse map and if i use the default material of the cosy interior set it is vissible to but because the material is darker it is less vissible. Other surfaces do not have this.

I used the headlamp for this render but i have used hdri and the result was the same.

I have this also with the floorplane of "rural chateau" and with some other scenes to.

How can i get rid of these phantom strokes?

I can't see a screenshot, so I'm only guessing. If you have Draw Ground turned On in the Render Settings pane Environment section, and you also have a modeled ground or floor in your prop, they can overlap and cause what I think you are describing. You can turn off Draw Ground if the ground doesn't show in your scene (like because you are doing an interior room shot) or you can raise your prop in the Y axis by a fraction of a centimeter.

  • barbult thanks that was the problem
