I tried to play around with this, purely out of curiousity as I thought this was going to be a crazy/overly ambitious thing for the Daz/Tafi team. I was correct it seems. This is NOTHING like what was (and still is) advertised on the Tafi website (https://maketafi.com/newsroom). This is not a text to 3d engine. It's a text to photo engine. So less of a ChatGPT + Midjourney having a properly typologized fully rigged 3D baby and more of a Midjourney wannabe clone. It would have been nice to take our already purchased products and be able to do with them what the original video marketing this thing implied it would do. Like think MetaHumans/Megascans on a whoooole different level. But it's just another generic AI thing that cannot even get hands and eyes correct Smh. Not too mention zero inclusivity right out of the gate.

I don't even generally like how AI is used today as it's quite abused. But even when putting that bias aside, who is this for? Certainly not AI enthusiasts. Daz creators can already use Midjourney/Stable Diffusion to create different types of looks/styles for their Daz renders...without an additional price when it comes to SD. Sooooo how does this actually stand out vs all the other Midjourney/SD clones out there?

Figured it was a long shot, but what a waste on their part imo.

This is a step on the way, not the final Text To 3D tool, which is still being worked on.

Not at this time but there will be a FAQ and more information forthcoming (and additional information over time). Keep an eye on the Blog and in this forum (the Announcements) as I am sure when ready it will likely be announced here (And also in the Commons)

We are a LONG way from text to 3D AI that will create anything even remotely close to the quality of DAZ figures.

They are speaking specifically about this: https://maketafi.com/newsroom

I agree. It's a pretty hefty endeavor. Most of the current text to 3D AI platforms export ugly mishappened blob meshes with a low quality texture on top. Daz would in theory have a leg up as it already has a massive library to tap with willing vendors to contribute. But it's still going to take time to get it right. I mean, the text to image thing right now is really rough, even for a beta...even smaller companies have done better.

When I read the newsletter headline I thought abou an AI Assistent inside of DAZ. Something like "load..." or "place the figure there..." or "pose the Figure...", something that would improve the workflow of creating on different things you would like to to. Maybe a Tagsystem with the owned content could help with the commands, too.

I hope this ideas would become a part of DAZ one day. The new AI is just an image creator with out a working link to the real programm.

I don't believe that Daz was talking about a system for generating 3D models from text, but rather a way of using text to control the features of DS or something along those lines.

Yeah, I subscribed to it, and don't see anything different than what free users get other than it gives more images. I was under the impression that this was a plug in for Studio that would take the characters I have created using Genesis 9 and use those. Nope. I feel greatly mislead.

As an edit, I also see no way to cancel this subscription. Thankfully I know how to do that from within Paypal.

If you go to the Tafi website, the information of text to 3d is there. Based on the presentation they give, it's ChatGPT meets Midjourney with Daz Assets that folks own that can have fully rigged characters exported to Unreal. This text to image thing came out of no where.

lol, I definitely would not be holding my breath for that any time soon. I'll be interested in this once the img2img feature is added because I'm curious to see what it does if you give it an actual Studio render containing a product that the AI is also trained on (like hair or a background environment).
