Store cookie settings broken

  • And then today (so far), without having done anything more than comment on the stituation here yesterday... no more cookie pop-ups on the site pages.  I am NOT complaining at ALL about their sudden absence, but what the heck?  Well, I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!

  • *sigh*  Never mind.  It's back.  The pop-up must have just been resting for a few hours.

This just started yesterday for me after working fine for years with the current settings

It's really messing things up now, yesterday, I had one interrupting the processing page after returning from payment, not sure if it's related, though I suspect it is, but the things I bought yesterday don't show as purchased on the product lists, while they do show as purchased on each products' page itself. Like, when I open the Jon bundle, the bundle shows as purchased, but the included products show as not purchased, but visiting the seperate pages from the products shows them as purchased again. I was able to download them, so no problem I guess, just something weird in the store.

Good luck only lasted for three tabs for me. I'm running Chrome on Linux Mint.

FYI it just popped up for the second time on this page as I was typing

OK it has mysteriously stopped on it's own. NOT holding my breath that it stays off

This was merely a rumour for me---until today. I didn't sign out or restart. And this just started today. On every page. Daz seems to be sending a message: "Stop shopping here; why can't you understand?" Not to worry, Daz, I'm slow, but I'm catching on, finally.

It did stop for a few days for me, but the notification is now back with a vengeance.

  • davesodaveso Posts: 7,016

its actually getting worse. now the thing covers half the page with explanations. it pops up on every page change and now even when you change threads in the fourums.
    I sent in a ticket.

How's this: I'M BOYCOTTING DAZ UNTIL THIS CRAP STOPS. I'VE HAD ENOUGH.

  • It seems to come and go at random. I literally have not done a single thing different in days. During that time, the cookie stuff ranges from nonexistent, as it was yesterday, to the annoying half-page version, which is back today. But others were complaining about the cookie thing yesterday, when I wasn't seeing it. It's almost like random subsets of the population are harassed from one day to the next.

Mine stopped bugging a week ago, both at work (W10+Chrome) and at home (W7+Opera). I only see them if I go incognito.

The way they are bugging some of the people some of the time and gets fixed with no user intervention, suggests the problem is going around in the CDN servers.

They came back with a vengeance... Had no problems at work (W10+Chrome), but here at home (W7+Opera) they come up on every single page, not even remembering what I have selected before.

    Sigh...

They are back for me - having been clear since April 19th. Maybe it has a 14-day timer? I was fine till about ten minutes ago, now I get the pop-up on every store, forum and gallery page.

    Chrome browser on Win 11.

I was dreading to open the site at home (W7+Opera), but it seems yesterday's problems are gone with the wind.

Edit: Don't know if it's related but gone with the wind is also all the functionality from DazDeals, but that happened to me at work too not that long ago...

They are also back for me. It was terrible about a week or so ago, then the endless popups stopped, and now they are back.

This is on Windows 11 + Chrome. I have not made any changes on my side to the anti-virus/ad blockers/firewall etc throughout this period, so it is likely changes on the server side causing it, or some other time related issue as suggested by MelanieL.

Well, I was good for over a week but now the "accept cookies" block is back and keeps returning. The only way I can clear the problem is to once again turn off my adblocker, clear cache and cookies, and then click the accept  button. This is a real pain in the neck. One of two things is going to happen. Either DAZ fixes the problem permanently OR I quit shopping at DAZ.

Did anyone check if the clearing browser settings are set to On Close? If any are marked, they will clear. Cookies are the settings you don't want to be turned on. It will sign you out and make you accept cookies over and over.

    Just a thought.

I think some people are getting multiple requests within a session, though, not just having it repeat at the beginning of each session.

Logout, close  browser, login again did the trick for me this time. But I'm pretty sure I tried it when I had the problem last month and it didn't work, so maybe it was just a coincidence.

Anyway I've had a couple of hours of blissfully pop-up free browsing this evening, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
