Whats the best way to speed up searches and load times?

I have a LOT of data in my runtime bewteen DAZ native stuff and Poser stuff. (I think almost 1TB) Stuff I've been collecting for years and I don't have the time or energy to go through everything little by little and get rid of old stuff I will never need.

I have pretty good system specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 49152MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 X2 in SLI

But many times the Smart Content and the regular content take a long time to find stuff and to refresh.

Is there anything I could do to speed up the search and load times? Would it make any difference to put something on an SSD? (I can't put the data on an SSD too big to do so on my current budget.)
