how to remove files from Genesis 8 base

Hi,

When I load Genesis 8 it calls for "Missing files " /data/lululee/Product/001-BA-F-Belt-01/001-Ba-F-Belt-01.dsf"

They don't exist. How would I remove them so the "Missing file" notice won't call for them?

    This is with a base figure, or with certain scenes or characters?

    Hi,

     It is with the base figure. I can't locate the missing files but it is a problem because I can't do a "batch render" because it stalls on the opening.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    That shouldn't happen if you are loading the base figure. Have you tried removing G8 and installing again to see if that fixes the problem?

    Yes, I reinstalled the Genesis 8 essentials. The call for the missing files still show up.

    Did you empty Daz Studio cache ?

    It's done by going in the preferences panel (F2 or Edit > Preferences on Windows, CMD+; or Daz Studio > Preferences on a Mac) and on the first tab, you push the two clear buttons, which should remove all cache and temporary files created by Daz.

    If it's still not solving the problem, as far as I remember, Daz doesn't compress the .duf files they are providing, so you should be able to open the .duf file of the base Genesis 8 / 8.1 (male or female depending on the one causing the problem) with a text editor and search inside for the "/data/lululee/Product/001-BA-F-Belt-01/001-Ba-F-Belt-01.dsf" (you're "lucky", because they are no empty space in the path, otherwise, you would need to replace every one of them by %20).

    If there is a link to your file in here, first, I have no idea how it got here and second, I'm not sure what part of the file you need to remove (any mention of that file should have been obtliterated when you uninstalled Genesis 8 Essentials).

    The easiest way to solve it would be to download manually Genesis 8 Essentials (or just look in the repertory used by DIM to keep a backup of any downloaded package). You just need the archive related to the gender causing the problem (or, if it's both, both archives).

    Then you have to search the "Genesis 8 Basic Female.duf"/ "Genesis 8 Basic Male.duf" and "Genesis 8.1 Basic Female.duf"/ "Genesis 8.1 Basic Male.duf" in G8F Starter Essential archive and replace the existing file with the ones from the archive. Once the archive is unzipped, the two files are in "Content/People/Genesis 8 Female"/"Content/People/Genesis 8 Male"

    What is the full error message from the log (Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File)?

    Hi, I did clear the cache and looked in Notepad+ for the file "/data/lululee/Product/001-BA-F-Belt-01/001-Ba-F-Belt-01.dsf"

    I could not find it and clearing the cache did nothing different. Still missing files.

    I did find this in the log. I just putting in the part where the files show up. If you want more of the  log file let me know.

    I really appreciate all of your help.

    I looked at my log when I'm loading a G8F figure and I have a couple of warning. Mines are related to morphs but didn't blocked the loading (without looking for them, I would not know about them) and the log told me the origin of these problem (I removed the name of the file for readibility sake, it was not the same as yours):

    I don't know if in your case it could also be a problem related to morphs (and I have no other idea), but if you created a character morph for a character wearing pasties, belt and bra, maybe you made a mistake during its creation leading to the inclusion of these items and it could be the cause of your current problem ?

    Hi,

       I'm at a loss with this. Hopefully someone will have encountered this before.

    They could be morphs but I have no idea where to find them.

    Did you make these items? These are all connected, and yes, it has something to do with how they were saved. Have you deleted the items? If not, then that is the fix. If you have deleted them, then there must be some remnants of them in other items.

    You cannot find the file, neither can Daz, that is why it has this error. But something is asking for these files to be loaded. There has to be something loading with Genesis 8 calling for them.

    You could try loading a dev model of G8 just to see if it loads without errors.
