Whilst some props export fine, a lot have messed up UVs on export. The props look fine inside Vue itself, so I am not sure why they can not be exported properly. Does Vue have some propriety UV system that is difficult to export? Is there some export options I need to select in order to export the props so that their UVs will work in other apps? I tried obj, dae and FBX formats, but in all cases the UVs of some props are messed up.

There is a gothic cathedral I would particular like to export. I have some Catherdral interiors, but no exteriors like this model.

    Hi,

When exporting, in export options:- "Export Materials" -> Bake to texture maps + Generic UVs.

You will then also have other options, such as texture map size output.

I did a quick test exporting the catherdral as .dae with those bake options, and renders OK in DS

    Hi,

Thanks a lot, I did exactly as you specified and now the Catherdral exports just fine. I will try and do the same with the other models where the UV was messed up.

    Cheers.

So awesome this is now free, the last version I spent $ on was Vue 7 with a lot of cornucopia addons.. I am guessing some of the older files may not work with the newer software, but I will have to see.  I have been wanting to learn Plant Factory for a while, but just didn't want to drop $$ for a subscription.. My first try at some Palms imported into Bryce.

Holy Smokes, just saw this ... unbelieveable ... man o man ... I stopped buying upgrades when they went on a yearly subscription model. I prophesized that their decision to do so (which was some time ago) was not going to go well and ... well .... here we are. Damn generous though. There is so much that this software can do. Darn ... stilll can't belive it ... am downloading all the stuff even as I type. I also stopped upgrading PS when adobe went subscription. Smart b/c most of what I need PS for I can now do online for free with Photopeaan online knock-off version of PS.

All those years, I had to remind myself that what I had done was right (the entire subscription model is so userous and insane) as I was seeing the successive new versions come out over the years. And now I have been vindocated and the pay off is huge.

Wow! This really made my day, probably my week!

Blender--Vue--DAZ--Photopea (and if needed GIMP) ... a dream workflow (the sky is the limit) for anybody, but particularly those needing or wanting to keep their expenses in check.

I still have a tone of stuff I purchased on Cornucopia, which was all version specific locked, I think. Before I try digging any of that up from wherever I safely mothballed it, has anybody been able to use old cornucopia purchased content on these newer versions?

There was a link/address in the FAQ (I think) to get an activation key - not sur when that offer was due to expire though (to get a key, not the key itself).

I believe the date is just around the corner - August 30, 2024.  There may be a lot of questions asked of Bentley in these last days before Vue/Plant Factory access ends but the company has an email address for questions - [email protected]

There's a "readme" tab with a "how to download" section on the page.

Doesn't it come with a perputual license now? I don't remember getting a key or having to enter one. My download zips for the two main programs have the word perpetual at the end.

Yes, the issue is content from the old Cornucopia store.

I got one within a day of my request. Today is the last day for getting it; so maybe you should email them again today. Be sure to follow instructions and include the code you get from the help section of your copy of Vue.

How do I get hold of a legacy license compatibility key?

Please email Bentley at [email protected] and we will get back to you with the compatibility key. Please include your “hostID” in the ticket, which can be found in the “Help – Legacy Content Compatibility” menu in VUE or PlantFactory, so that the key can be generated. After you have received the key, you can load it into VUE and PlantFactory with the same menu entry. Upon loading, the apps will decrypt the key for you and generate a new key file, which will then work permanently for any new installation on any machine.  Make sure you backup this decrypted key for future installations.

Please note: Generating Legacy License Compatibility Keys is a service we will offer only during a temporary grace period, until August 30th, 2024. After this date, this service will no longer be available.

I have content bought from Cornucopia that is solely linked to my old copy of Vue - I cannot open it in any other copy of Vue without a Legacy License Compatibility Key

The downloads for Vue (2024 & 2023) and Plant Factory (2024 & 2023) don’t require a key.  They install as perpetual licenses with no key required.

I got my Legacy License Compatibility Key the day after I requested one via the Bentley email address for requesting it - [email protected] .  The key is only needed if you want to use legacy content bought at Cornucopia 3D because that content was node locked.  Only one key is needed for Vue and not one for each legacy product.  I’ve only tried two Cornucopia 3D products purchased around 2013 or so and they still don’t load.  Feedback from Bently is that they either may be too old to load in current versions of Vue (as I suspected) or have some other issue.

The deadline for downloads and Legacy License Compatibility Key requests is today.  Note, though, that Bentley is in Germany.  It’s now 7 pm there and it may be too late to request a Legacy License Compatibility Key if needed unless Bentley is keeping staff late to handle other time zones.
