Harlow 9

Just starting the thread. Have at it, if you will.
I like his looks, meself, and with the banner, a couple non-EL addons, and some tokens, I can pull the price down from nosebleed to something more workable.

I think I like him well enough, probably the morph more than the skin. But I specially like the curly beards that come with him, I think we don't see these often really. Will wishlist them for now though.
Do you mean https://www.daz3d.com/hs-mandeep-frizz-hair-and-beard-for-genesis-9 because the base char doesn't come with any beard that I can see?
I'm personally cautious of that hair- it's lacking description (it says it uses omni shader but it's not listed as a dhair?) and several past hair sets have been really broken or lacking any morphs at all, and I'm waiting to see if any of the past stuff gets fixed before trying any new stuff from them. The character though, looks pretty darn amazing!
I'd feel a lot more confident about those hairs if they were made by people like AprilYSH or Toyen.
Or Chevybabe, who made those new omni hair shaders and made all the strand hair totally realistic! as well as both posable and sim-able.
just finished updating daz so I could use some of Chevy's and Toyen's new hair with the omni shaders. :)
Great skin, but a really odd looking chest. Pass for me.
I can get the Pro Bundle down to $29.05, but can't find good enough items and discounts to fill up the rest of the cart.
Had to go up to $100 before I got the cart down to 90% off and there was only 16 items => Pass.
I am glad to see a somewhat softened stance on Fan Art products.
Because I watched "For All Mankind" series recently (and loved it) actor Edi Gathegi instantly came to mind when this figure popped up.
Did Chevybabe make the shader, or show how to use it an provide a set of tools to help?
I hooked up the original Omni Shader and pitched/sold it to Daz ( also with some of Toyen's help too), so that everyone could use it. Daz( namely Josh and Dan) made it bulletproof so that we can have this for years to come. It was a great group effort, for the love of strand hair :)
So I can't take all the credit here.
The presets are all mine though lol!
Thanks for the input everyone! I'll probably wait for the hair to be on sale anyways, so if I do run into problems, I won't mind so much. Also, one can always return stuff, and I sometimes already did. - Oh, and I actually referred to both hair sets that are in the Pro bundle (yes, sadly no hair/beard added with the figure itself), the other one seems to have a somewhat curly beard as well (even if cropped really close).
I picked up the pro bundle. The tokens and the add-ons made it the most effective option. I like his morph, especially the swole morph. his head is not my favorite, and the skin looks a bit similar to others. But I can work with it. I do like the hair.
I avoided the Star Wars content. I'm hoping the Marshall outfit is okay to use. It had no editorial licensing yet.
Harlow 9 is an interesting character and certainly an enrichment for the G9 gene pool. His neck is a little long, but this can easily be corrected. The chest has already been criticised here, and yes, it looks a bit feminine - at least in the 'question mark pose' in which the character was thought to be shown. A little unfavourable, but that can also be corrected.
Again, a well put together bundle and a reasonably good Orange Banner offer - bought!
Thank you, I couldn't recall and wanted to check.
You are very welcome :)
I'll be interested in seeing your adjustments. The upper portion of the chest is odd. It's raised on either side of the sternum, then concave at the upper pectorals.
I like his face. I like his textures too, although more as a good quality base to put some more distinguishing blemishes into. I love the Mandeep Frizz. And I think that's about it.
His upper and outer chest looks weird to me. Expressions are expressions - we get them with every bundle but I barely use any of them. I've already so many variations on those alternative shapes - I far preferred it when there was an elder version because they genuinely seemed different between each character. Little interest in the other outfits or the weapons, and I'm struggling to see how a few colour changes makes the difference between an editorial license and not. Sure, there's the mask, but that should've been its own product. As it is, there's nothing to protect me when using the non-editorial version if Disney decide to go after the other one. Don't like the other hair - bad haircut up the sides, imo. The showman type outfit has no waistband in the trousers? Or are those just poor promos? And the texture work looks a bit plastic for my liking.
Ha - I sound like a grump! I'll definitely pick up the hair and the character at some point, just not much else I'd use in the bundle.
I could not resist either.
I like the outfit.
Well that was an INSTA-BUY! Mandalorian - Woot-woot!
At first I wasn't excited about Harlow but I decided to get him and Im glad I did-he makes a great Nosferatu! This is him with the normal shape with some assets from the amzing Mercilus bundle too (minus the enviroment stuff):
I found Harlowe's body to be similar to Torment's bod with the exception of the head, long neck and the mooby chest. I actually really like Torment so this is a big plus.
I thought it was Ncutie Gatwa. But I'm guessing that Harlow being released the same week as the new Doctor Who series is about to start is purely coincidence :/
I like Harlow 9. On the Right, Harlow 9, on the left, Harlow 9's body with Torment's head, neck a bit shorter, and waist just a bit smaller to match Torment's shape, and I took a stab at flattening the chest. The shape is not a perfect match, but closer proportionally to Genesis 8, which I prefer.
I think Harlow's genetics are great.
I'm not particularly fond of the gender split in Genesis 9 males, but I do find this morph to be quite useful.
