Face Transfer 2 problem

I'm sure this has been answered already, but the search engine on this forum is absolute trash, type in Face Transfer 2 and you get any post that ever had the word face or transfer or the number 2 in it, I could scroll for days through what comes up and find nothing relating to Face Transfer 2.

Anyways, I bought Face Transfer 2, typed in the serial number so that the plugin shows it's been verified, and restarted.  When I try to use Face Transfer I am told I am using the trial version, get a watermark, and have three saves remaining.  I never owned the original Face Transfer, and it shows up as such in the plugin manager.  Was owning it a requirement of using Face Transfer 2?  If so, that should have been made very clear on the product page.  It occurs to me as I write this that I tried to create a Gen 8 character, and a closer look at the product page says it only works with Gen 9, so maybe that's my problem?

Update: That was indeed the issue.  As a relative newcomer, you would assume that a second version of something would be just that, not an add-on to the original product.  Could that be made more clear on the product page?  I can't imagine I'm the only one who is going to run into this problem.  Also, the skin tone was worse on the Gen 8 creation with the watermark, but the face was way more on the money than the Gen 9 creation from the same photograph.  From this one test I'd say the original does a better job.

You can search in a regular search engine by using

    site:www.daz3d.com/forums

as one of your search terms. Not ideal, I know, but it is what we generally do.

The product page does say "It is compatible with Genesis 9 figures" and "If you're looking to do Genesis 8, Face Transfer Unlimited (the previous product to Face Transfer 2) supports Genesis 8 characters." so it seems fairly clear.

I bought it back when it was pre-order, and could swear that's not what it said then, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the tip on searching the forums, I will likely use them a ton more now that I have a way of actually finding relevant info. smiley
