Morphing python pose changes as it is moved

PitmaticPitmatic Posts: 899

Hi

Using the morphing python  if I load it into a scene, apply a pose and then move it the pose changes i even tried movinf it using the X Y Z slider and the pose changes almost as though i am trying to pull it around by a joint but i am moving the whole group, I even tried putting it in a new group and it still does it. I am doing something silly i am sure but what?

If you're doing something silly, then I do it as well, I have the same struggle with it. I believe there is something odd in the bone structure of that one. I try to put it as close to the point I need it and then readapt the posing, or in some cases I group everything else and more that to fit the noodle

I think i had a break through i found i can move it around by moving the hip and not the object, is this a poser thing?

I think that maybe there is an IK chain left on. If it's there and you move the character, the end point of the IK chain stays put, while the character moves. With inevitable results.

I hadn't used it since Poser6 days,  so I was curious.  Just downloaded it,  and gave it a try to render in iRay.  I did use the provided poses and tried to move it around using the Python root node.  I didn't experience any change in the pose. Rendered iray  DS 4.10  It has held up well for an older product after some texture tweaks.

It adapts pretty well to iray that's why I still like it

i made some sceenshots of what happens on transition along the blue axis, happening independent if I pull on the blue arrow or use the zTrans in the parameters

loaded and posed from the pose presets

moved along the zTrans (blue axis)

more movement in the same direction doesn't change it further, but movement in the other adds more distortion

Ever curious,  I just loaded it up again. I had the exact same jump you decribed if I selected the head and tried to move it with the tri directional transform tool.

I switched to the bone select tool  and selected the head and tried to move the head,   and it behaved  more smoothly.

Not sure why the two tools result in a drastically different interaction,  but probably something to do with the IK chain.
