Emissive materials are not imported when importing fbx files straight from Daz. I'm not using Daz to blender bridge at the moment. Haven't set it up or tried it

Guess I'm spending big money on a p600 quadro and p40 Tesla for Daz Studio. I was hoping I could cheap out and use blender on an m40 instead. Guess not ;(
Fbx only imports basic textures, not materials. If you want to import materials then try diffeomorphic which gets a fair good conversion from iray to cycles, including emission.
I used to diffeomorphic to import an environment and I got this error:
Some assets were not found. Check that all DAZ root paths have been set up correctly.
You have to do what the error message tells you, there's an extensive documentation available at the addon site.
https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import_daz/wiki/Install/Save the DAZ root paths
i didn't know there's something specific i need to do. It's been years since I used it. I used diffeomorphic back in something like 2017-2018 last so I'm just now relearning stuff about it
UGH I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE [wretched] THING TO [bloomin'] WORK!!!!!!!!!!!
A which root path do I put it in?
my primary library folder where my assets are (which is on my E drive not my C drive
the Daz library on my c drive
my Daz program (where the exe is) folder
the the root of my E drive where my primary library is
my plugin folder in my Daz program folder
the root of my Daz studio 4 folder
somewhere else altogether??????
im so confused
If you follow my link above it explains there's a script to run which does the work for you. No need to guess anything.
I used the script and it didn't help
This is freaking FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used the script and still got that god awful error message!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really want this to work because I really don't want to shell out $200 something for a new gpu!
Am I using the script wrong? Do I save the import to Daz file that the script generates somewhere specific????
Is it my operating environment????
Ugh I'm so lost and frustrated!
Please upload a picture of your daz and blender folders so we can compare. If they're the same then everything should work fine. Below mine that's the deafult, I don't use daz connect, if you do be sure that the cloud directories are listed too.
Where did you find the global settings window? I never saw that on my blender. Note: I'm using the latest edition of blender (4.x not 3.x)
I've tried it on 3.6 but the same issue happens
Where by chance would i find the global settings folder in blender 4.x?
I can't find global settings anywhere, does blender 4.1 even have it?????
I give up I'm just gonna eat the $200 price tag and buy the $200 gpu. But thanks for trying to help
It's the addon global settings where the daz paths are, as explained in the docs I linked for you above, which you are supposed to read.
https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import_daz/wiki/Global Settings
I actually did read it. Still couldn't find it
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the instructions?
You did not find the global settings button in the main tab ? If so try a clean install, though I'm not aware of anything which could remove the settings button, so you really messed it up bad some way.
https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import_daz/wiki/Install/Installing the Blender add-ons
Clean install of what? Blender or Daz? What part of the screen is that dropdown menu on? I only see the menu itself
What software is the global setting found in?
