V7 Weight Map -- General or Convert to Triax?

Continuing on in pursuit of knowledge and perfection.  My Victoria 7 model has bending issues between thigh and hip region.  I watched tutorials about weight maps in Daz studio hoping to find something useful.  Then I noticed V7 loads in with general weight maps.  Would converting to triax maps make an instant difference or would I still need to paint the maps?  Also, if I change weight maps or repaint them will the changes stay forever or only untill I close Daz Studio?

I would highly recommend leaving the rigging of V7 alone. It is not actually a separate figure as it is a morph of Genesis 3. Given the technology involved in creating the G3 figures it is not something to be tickered with expecting improvements esp. as a learning project ;-)

The tutorials for weight maps and such tend to be geared for clothing and/or props to be used in the program.

One normally can make morphs for minor figure adjustments ... Genesis is an easier model to learn "how to" with for modeling clothing and/or creating morphs and such.

For the type of morphs you'd be interested in, also look into joint morph controls. There are some good tutorials over on Youtube by various community pros.

For triax rigging originals figures, this tutorial explains the process very well. It was created back a few editions however the main points are still quite valid and it can be followed.

One of the tools was renamed but one can figure it out. Rigging Original Figures by Blondie9999
