I'm at the 'nothing works' point.
    I've watched the YouTube video.
    I have a Gen 9 Male. I want to use a Gen 8 Gun.
Apply Heavyweight Bone Minion for Gen 8 male. - Goes fine.
Chose Bone Minion. Add gun. - Goes fine.

Now... this is where something weird occurs.

The YouTube video and demo make no mention of this from the manual: "To copy or move items from your
Bone Minion, select the Bone Minion. To copy or move items from one figure generation to another, select the figure to copy
FROM first, and then select CTRL-select the figure to copy TO. To delete items from a figure, select the figure."

The demo on YouTube does not do this.

I ASSUME you mean 'select the Gen 8 bone minion first, then CTRL-select the Gen 9  figure'?

There are many ways to use Prop Minion.  Each of the options below are independent of each other.

    1. IF a bone minion is set up as a child of the figure, you can just select the bone minion, nothing else.  Then start Prop Minion
    2. IF you do not have a bone minion in the scene and you want to just copy from two figures (e.g., Genesis 8 Male to Genesis 9) AND you have the correct Bone minion product installed, you can just use the Genesis 8 Male as an unofficial bone minion.  In that case, select the G8M and then Ctrl-select the G9.  Then start Prop Minion
    3. IF you only want to delete props from a character, just select that character.  Then start Prop Minion

    Run Prop Minion.

Anyway, it lists the gun. Copy is lit up.

Another odd thing happens: The Clothing Items area lists Genesis 8 eyelashes. For some reason.

As far as Daz Studio is concerned, the eyelashes are clothing items.  Nothing special about them.  So Prop Minion cannot discern that they are not props without writing lots of special code (e.g., for G9, ignore the eyelashes, eyes, tears, mouth.  For G8, ignore...)

    Click Accept.

'An error has occurred'. Nothing happens.
I have tried this with just the normal Gen 8 Male Bone Minion. Same thing.
Tried both with both CTRL-selcting the Gen 9 figure and with just having the Gen 8 Male Bone Minion selected. Same thing.

    Any ideas?

For this, you will need to post the Daz Log where you start Prop Minion

I didn't need ALL of the log, just the part from where Prop Minion was started...  The log states "Can't find variable: MemorizePose".  The MemorizePose function was added to the D:/DAZ/My Daz 3D Library/data/RiverSoft Art/Common/RSBoneMinionFunctions.dse file back in May (and all the Bone Minion products were updated then).  Do you install using DIM or manually?  And then did you perhaps install an old version of a Bone Minion AFTER installing Prop Minion?

OK, then, yes; apparently when I had to rebuild things I added in an older version, prob from partner's backup. Works fine now, Thank you.
