scripted props

Hi !

i have those lamps (inaneglory's) that always get instanciated with lights - i dont want the light, i just want the prop - how do i get rid of the bit of script that produces the light ?

  • That's either a light parented to the prop or the surface set to emit light - parented lights should be obvious and can be deleted, emissive surfaces in Iray require selecting the surface that glows and setting Emissive colour to black.

    my curiousity aimed toward having a *clean* prop - now that i think about it, maybe i should spawn the prop, delete the light & save the *clean* prop as a new asset.

  • You shouldn't need to save as a new asset, just save a Scene Subset without the light.

    well, i got this big scene with one of those lamp - each time i load it up, i find the associated daz light added to my scene - and even tho i delete it each time before working on the scene & saving it; but on the next load the darn light comes back.

    ie prop loaded (with light), deleted light, save (as scene), reload, daz light pops back up.

    i figured the prop itself calls the spawning via a script somewhere.

    ill try both scene subset & new asset.

  • Sorry it din't see this thread till today. What product of mine are you using? Can you show us a screenshot of these lights?
