Green Screen

So, I want to render an object with a green background so that I can key it out later.

I've taken a screenshot to represent what I want the final render to look like.

I've tried adding a background plane and colouring it green but the problem is it gets reflected in the materials of the objects in the scene.

I got the attached screenshot by changing the background colour of the viewport to green but the render doesn't include that background colour.

Is there a way to add a green background colour to the final render without it being reflected in the scene objects?

I want to render an image set to create a video.

Window>Panes(Tabs)>Environment and set it to a solid colour.

If you empty the scene of everything, load your item, render and save it to PNG, the surrounding areas are transparent - No need for greenscreen.

You're the best. That's done exactly what I was looking for.
