MERGING CORRECTLY

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Lately, when I have been merging characters or props into new sets, the merged character (or prop) appears far away from the set, and takes forever to drag into the set.

How do I merge items directly into the set.- or easily get them there, easily?

    Hold down the Alt key (on Windows, don't know what the Mac equivalent is) while dragging the figure to the viewport -- a target will appear showing where in the scene the figure will load.  If the floor is not at Y=0 you'll have to raise or lower the figure, but the X and Z coordinates should be in roughly the right place.

    I'll try that, tonight, I inteand to load a small set with some characters. for another scene.
