Where O Where.....

Greetings Folks,

I have searched hi and lo, and have come up empty handed, so I am going to beg for some help ;-)

I need to know, how I can change the defaut directory where DS 4.8 saves scene geometry files.

I have a computer with a limited "C:" space due to the fact its a SSD drive.

I have DS saving scenes where I want them, I have my renders going where I want them as well, BUT when I save a scene, the "resources" are saved to folders in my C in the default location,(\DAZ 3D\My Library\Runtime\data\auto_adapted) quickly eating up my already limited resources.  I have DS installed on my "D" drive, so I'm not sure where to change this setting.

If any of this makes sense, and you can help me out, I'm all ears ;-)

Thanks!! Terry

  • The Data folder in the content directory you save to should be used. If you save to  alocation that is not in a content directory then the Data folder in the first DAZ Studio content directory will be used. So, if you are saving to a non-content directory location use the Content Directory Manager (Content Library option menu, or Edit>Preferemces>Content Library tab) to promote the directory you want to use to the top of the list.

You should not have the "data" folder inside the "Runtime" folder.

  • Oops, yes - I missed that. It does look as if you content directory set up is wrong - please open the Content Directory Manager (Edit>Preferences>Content Library, or the Content Library pane's option menu) and take a screenshot showing the current settings under Poser Formats and DAZ Studio Formats.
