Is there a Stats View for a scene, to warn us how big it is being sent to the VRAM? How do you know how large a scene is?
Window>Panes(Tabs)>Scene Info, though that won't be infallible by any means (if it was, Daz could have provided a feedback tool to show when you were in danger of hitting the GPU limit).
Aha! Thank you.
I'm running a quad core i7 laptop with a 970M card; to date I've found that not ticking CPU during iray rendering shaves a few minutes off unfussy pictures (ie all mats G3 equivalent, everything in its right place).
I'm definitely seeing faster iray rendering in 4.9. One 3840px cowboy shot sailed through in under four minutes last night, which is a very noticable, welcome improvement. The new HMaterials for 4.9 figures are excellent in terms of render speed.
