Link rotation parameter to transform parameter so one affects the other?

Hello!

A quick question, I want to create a cabinet door that has a soft close hinge. The door is over the frame of the cabinet, and because of that, I need to do both a rotation AND a translation to get it from closed to open without it ending up inside the cabinet geometry.

Is there a way for me to link up the two parameters? Say, that if I change my RotY parameter from 0 to 90 degrees, the TransZ parameter would go from 0 to 1.6 units? Is this a rigging situation, or can I do it with a custom parameter? I'm a bit at a loss on how to do this inside DAZ Studio. Any tutorials or explanation for this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for any help you can provide!

I think a new keyed ERC control is your best bet (using the timeline to set the key values for the translation and rotation). I've seen it done that way (don't ask me where) on something like that. A door has to push out, then swing open.

Thank you, I will look into this! I think I've found a few tutorials that can help me out now that I know what to look for
