Is there a sweltering heat effect in Daz?

Like a VDB or some kind of transparency that would blur/distort/DOF the background and cause a sweltering heat effect?

I have not put much thought into what this effect is caused by or how one would emulate it.

I am just putting this out there to see what comes back.

Google for "mirage":

The heat mirage effect, also known as a thermal mirage or atmospheric mirage, is an optical phenomenon that occurs when light bends due to temperature differences in the air. This bending of light can create the illusion of water or other objects in the distance.

My thought is with the right VDB/HDRI and the right light this effect could be physically simulated.

I am thinking a plane with an index of refraction might emulate this, but it would be more realistic if it was done with a particle field atmosphere.

Some kind of turbulence...

I would try and find a mirage filter for Photoshop (or whatever you're using for post work) and then use Canvas
