My Favorite Script (Commercial)

My Favorite Script Product Support Forum.

My Favorite Script - A new way of saving and loading figure shape and pose data.

It works by tagging all used morphs as favorites and you can save them as a preset be it just shaping data, pose or both. You can then apply that preset to any figure but with the ability to select what you want to load back in, making it fully customizable unlike other preset methods. It also allows for stacking, meaning you can over exaggerate your favorite morphs by doubling the effect.

It also loads your presets with greater loading speeds up to 8X faster, much faster than the traditional approach. It also includes options to Zero figure shapes and poses up to 8x faster, making character swapping and editing a breeze.

Below is a video showing the product in action.

Love it, but where are the presets stored on my computer? Under shapes somewhere?

Nope here it is: C:\Users\RGUS\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4\My Favorite Script\Genesis8Female\

Can I change it to somewhere else?

Hi. No, location cannot be changed.

I don't usually gush, but this is so cool. I have wanted something that would allow me to do partial pose presets, and maybe other stuff does, but to also have shape save and mostly, the zero fast option in one place is great.

One question=-I assume we can only access the presets from inside the script?

    [Bother]... almost perfect then.

I suppose it's a limitation or requirement of DAZ Studio to clog your USER folder.

    Thanks for the fast answer.

THis might be a dumb question, but does that mean that if we get a new computer we lose the presets?

It would also be great if you could work on more than one figure in a scene without opening it and closing it, but hey. I'll live.

Hi. No, location cannot be changed.

If you decide that the location cannot be User-selectable, then please make it a location within the standard DAZ Studio "Content" directory structure, e.g.:

    App.getDataFolderPathBase()+"/data/BitZev/My Favorite Script/"+...etc.

    My (Win7) current location within C:/Users/<user>/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/Studio 4 Public Build/My Favorite Script/...etc. has 2 problems:

    1. Presets created within DS Public Build do not appear in the AppData/Roaming/ location for DS General Release.
    2. The presets do not get backed-up/restored with all the other DAZ Studio data when the "Content" directory is backed-up/restored.

What is the earliest DS version that this will work with?

On my 64-bit Win7 PC, it works OK in DS Public Build v4.21.0.5, but in DS General Release v4.15.0.30 it fails to load:
    log file says:
        Loading script: (path)/My Favorite Script.dse
Failed to load script: (path)/My Favorite Script.dse

Hi. We chose 4.20.0.2 as minimum version because that is required for G9 compatibility.

    OK, I understand.

First clarification:  Because of this, since I launch D|S from drive D would the script be unusable?

Second clarification: Shapes and pose data can only be transferred to figures of the same Generation eg. Gen 3 character to G3F base and not Gen 3 character to G8F, did I get that right?

This looks like a very useful tool, and I have som ideas what I could use it for. The preset list In the video and the screenshots only shows how it looks like with "Large Thumbnails" selected. I could imagine that list gets very long after some time. What are the other options for displaying the presets?

Hi. You can change preview to no thumbnail, and then small, medium and large thumb. You can also update or add thumbnails or remove them from presets if you wish to change that by right clicking.

1st clarification..let me get back to you on this. Ideally all presets are saved in C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4\My Favorite Script

2nd clarification - Yes that is correct. No interfigure transfers. Each figure will only populate the presets designed and saved for that figure.

I'm having all sorts of problems with the product and rendering with Octane. I know, it's easy to blame octaner havinng the problem, but this is only time I'm having an issue with any script... ever.

After applying a preset to a figure in the scene, and then applying that preset to the same figure to get back to the pose I originally stareted with, the rennder viewport does not display any parts of the figure, just hair and clothing and scene props. G8F has disapeared though still listed in the scene. I've checked for hidden paramaters, opacity of materials and, well, I don't think I can actually rely of this script and Octane working together.

I loaded another G8F and applied the saved preset to her, the render worked fine (see attached images), but now I have apply the textures and materials to the new G8F... was this the intention of the scripts functionality?

This article helped me find a solution.

If you change/delete your user account without backing your account's content then you will lose it, that's why you have to always back up your files before making big changes to your computer/certain programs that rely on external content.

EDIT: Just bought it, I can't wait to give it a go, as it turns my scene/character directiory obsolete! :^)

2nd clarification - Yes that is correct. No interfigure transfers. Each figure will only populate the presets designed and saved for that figure.

On the product page it says - "You can then apply that preset to any figure"

this is a little misleading if you ask me.

Character and figure get used inconsistently, I suspect in this case it means any figure/character using the same base.

I do back things up--I have all my content on a separate drive and have a duplicate of that (which I need to update), and I would backup my daz stuff on my computer itself, because of saved scenes, characters, etc. But I I don't think I've ever saved/transferred the app data stuff. Maybe I did. Just need to remember.

I am using this a lot already btw.

    @Zev0

After applying the saved Pose preset, the values in Scale of some joints are not correctly set (doubled to 200%)... probably a bug.

JSON file is attached. Ticket has been sent as well. Thanks in adv.

That's because you have checked the zero morph on new character, when it zeros the morphs that include the correctives as well, at least that's what happened to me, so I don't check the zero morph box...

Thanks, but I didn't check Zero Shape which is unchecked as default, and I just saved Pose Status only ~~ i.e. no Shape data in JSON file at all.  Besides, the strange thing is that the Scale values in JSON file are correct ... so I think the culprit comes from the script per se...

Hmm, well in that case, then yeah, either way the script has been misbehaving, as even the best scripts are not immune to bug infection!

It's an amazing script especially when used in conjunction with Dial Fusion, but yeah there's a bug to squash, as those sneaky goblins always find a way into even the most thoroughly tested scripts!

Yea, it's a powerful script especially it can apply Pose Control properties much faster than the default way of DS. I believe Zev0 can resolve the issues soon ~~ yes
