DAZ Connect

Are all the new products going to be needed to be downloaded through DAZ Connect? I use three different hard drives to store content and I haven't used my main raid drives for content in three years. I store all zip files on two different external hard drives. Now I can't dictate where the content is stored or have a back up zip file of the content I've bought. I prefer to install all my own content where I chose. Can it be an option to use DAZ Connect but still manually download the products. If not I'll be forced to leave DAZ.
