Dirty Reversion to 4.8

I've found a "Dirty" way to get back to 4.8.

If you Installed 4.9 through DIM, then uninstall via DIM.

If you downloaded and installed v 4.9 manually ( I didn't use this method so I'm not certain whether to uninstall first or not - I would try the don't uninstall first)

If you have a backup copy of the DIM ....\Downloads  folder, look for file  IM00013176-02_DAZStudio48Win64bit.zip open this zip file,

go to folder  DAZ Studio_4.5_(64-Bit)\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 copy ALL contents of this folder to C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4

force the copy ot overwrite ALL files.

As I say this is slightly dirty as you have to hope that all the DLLs are still registered correctly.

Note the values given are for 64bit - for 32 bit change the file and folder names as required.

Good Luck

I didn't download the standalone Daz 4.8 Pro installer (if there was one) and due to hiccoughs with 4.9 (which I've logged) I would like to revert to 4.8.

I have reverted to 4.7 which eradicated the issues with 4.9, but need to upgrade to 4.8. I can't find it in the "shop" and DIM doesn't offer any updates. Any suggestions as to how to get there?

If you don't have the installer archived, then you can try putting in a support ticket.  Once the new version hit the servers, 4.8 went the way of the dinosaurs...
