Not only do I want product pages, I want the readme documents, including the file lists.
How about a how to or even an inventory list?
I agree with this, too. When I saw Aiko being advertised I was intrigued but had no idea what was included. There really shouldn't be any exclusive content/plugins for this same reason. Customers should really be informed on the features and benefits of what they're buying, and if anything, product pages help to encourage those to move forward with making that purchase.
Personally, what sways me into buying a specific product IS with knowing what materials and extra things that go along with it. I love CHB's models because you get quite a bit with the character model, makeup, expressions, nail colors and more. With Aiko, you don't get all of those things and I didn't know that until I installed her.
If they dropped Premier to, say, $14.99 a month and remove the ecxlucisve content, sold those same products and gave a better discount instead for Premier members, I think that would really help cut things down the middle. The discounts are what everyone can use, and not everyone is interested in the potential products that'll come with Premier.
Now that would be a much better solution. They can keep on with the plugins, though they should openly commit to maintaining and developing their features to justify their being part of a subscription.
That would be better as long as they got rid of the encrypted/drm have to be connected to the web junk
Oh, I guessed they must have done some sort if DRM. Is that with the things that you get as premier that get taken away if you don't pay?
It's disappointting that rather than spending precious developent resource on things that benefit their users, they spend it on something which some of us, myself included, is user-hostile. My guess as a software professional is that getting that side working could have taken more time than integrating some old plugins, although I can't say that for certain.
Totally agree with the comment. Make the Premier about discounts only. And give their provide upgrade offers that are fair, so thier best cutstomers don't feel trapped on the lower tier.
Slighty at a tangent, I'm upset enough by all this and have been trying to increase my spending on other sites and not buy here, so also sad to see another of my favourite Rendo artists has defected, although at least the Rendo store hasn't been pulled. I hope it doesn't stagnate as I would now prefer to spend my money there than here,
I take it back. The store has been decimated, it's mostly V4 stuff and the many things I've bought in the past. This does not please me.
I have cancelled my membership in Premier. It had tooling I had already bought from the store in the first place which doesnt even work.
I am sorry but this isnt it for me.
Doesn't work?
Plugins conflict ? Which one ?
Is it actually part of the Premier subscription that the right of return is cancelled? I want to return the Vicky 9 Character Bundle and have been waiting for a response and refund since Friday, even though I've only had the best experiences with the sales department so far.
No, DazTafi, I'm not changing my mind. If you don't tell your customers that filament is not suitable for MacOS, don't be surprised if the stuff is returned.
Return policy is still there, but they most likely have a ton of tickets to process because of the new membership, and IIRC Monday was a holiday in the USA.
Oh yes, that's right. So I'll be patient a little longer...
yes, there are real problems over on that other site. A number of the artists have left and are on DAZ now. Sorry if that's out of topic.
They just announced AIKO 9 ANIME and she is exclusive to Premier Members. How is that fair? Is she always going to be behind that paywall? Is she free or do you still have to pay for her? I'm on a fixed Income and daz is just a hobby for me, at least it used to be. I've not completed a render since 2018.
Barring the catastrophic failure of the Premier subscription sales numbers, I doubt she will ever be released except behind the paywall. She's 'free' in the sense that if you're paying 18.99 a month for premier you don't have to pay anything extra beyond that. However, you lose her if you don't keep the subscription up. As to fairness, I'm sure it seems very fair to marketing folks who don't actually use content.
nothing is saying that DAZ can't sell them seperately for whenever Premier cease to exist. it's like the time when DAZ retroactively removed all of the DAZ Connect encyrpted content from DAZ Connect only, to every download method (DIM, Manual, etc) after that experement failed as badly.
I've been a 3D artist since 2009. As a beginner, I experimented with Daz and Poser before choosing Daz, and have been using it exclusively for over 10 years now. I canceled my Plus membership the other day, and will return to Poser before I join a $230/yr paywall for access to new figures.
That is my hope, or that they'll at least relent enough to have them be exclusive for a time before general release, which would be an improvement on the current plan.
I`m asking as a semi prodessional Daz artist.
Am I getting this correct? If I as a comic book creator, used a morph from one of the exclusive characters to create a new character to add to an ongoing comic series, I`d have to keep subscribing every month to keep the new character in my storyline?
If so, Premier does not seem feesible, as it would cut into profit from the sales of my comics. There would be no incentive to pay for Premier when I could just continue using existing assets.
It`s hypothetical because I make my own characters from merchant resources, but just incase ( It doesn`t have to be a character) I wanted to kit bash something like a chair from an interior that was exclusive to Premier membership.
You would be correct. Once you unsub, no more Premier content. I hopefully see this model (pun intended) going away after the backlash and having the tier structured for just discounts, something everyone can enjoy.
Worse, according ot the FAQ, if you unsub and then resub, there's no guarantee you'll regain access to the content you lost when you unsubbed (I've bolded the relevant part of the answer to Question #5 about content):
Presumably in that specific case you could create your character, export it as an obj, then re-import it as a morph?
This now makes me wonder what happens to content like Aiko 9 when only a tiny handful of users still have it due to the rest losing it during lapses in their subscriptions (which I would expect to be more frequent under the current 'monthly only' setup and the higher price of Premier). Not everyone is going to be able to keep up the payments forever.
No more Premier Exclusive content - there is oher content that premier members get 9the free bundles) that is not affected and remains a part of their content library even if they revert to Base membership.
Vicky 9 Dark Elf and Aiko 9 Anime are Exclusive content. If someone subs to Premier to use them in a comic, and then cancels Premier after creating said comic, they'll lose access to both figures.
EDIT: Corrected my reference to Vicky 9.
You mean the Vicky Dark Elf Shape-Vicky 9 herself is fully available for everyone to buy. But yeah, you'll lose the Dark Elf and Aiko if you unsub. Not a good choice to use either of those characters, or any other Premier exclusive assets, commercially. Which begs the question-how would we purchase licenses for them anyway? Would these fall into the Editorial License category? Or full use, no need to license?
This thread alone will get Richard to 110,000k posts and beyond.
Right. Sorry.
By Premier Content you mean the Priemier Exclusive Content correct?
