Missing V4 Files

JoltrastJoltrast Posts: 199

Every time I try to load V4.2 there's files missing which makes a lot of poses not work properly.
I've tried uninstalling all V4 content with DIM and reinstalling again, but the errors still appear. (I realise now that won't help, as they are in my Poser directory).

Any suggestions as to how I fix this please? (They are in my poser runtime directory).

A related problem is none of my Gen4 base figures show up in My Daz Library tree, but I can see and load them from Smart content.

Many thanks!

DAZ 4.8

    How did you install them?

How is the Poser content mapped in Studio?

I have two different directories. One has all my old content from Daz 3 (includes the legacy bodies and poser content) and the other one is for Daz and anything I've installed from DIM since upgrading to Daz 4.

So the old stuff from Daz 3 is in E:/Poser/Content and the Daz 4 stuff is in E:/My Daz Library. The older stuff IIRC doesn't show up in Smart Content (and there were other reasons for keeping them separate.)

Is E:/Poser/Content registered as a poser content directory in DS preferences?

    Yes

Now that I've found out they will load from the Smart tab, I guess it's not such a big deal, but I wish I could clean up my runtimes safely.

    Yes

Do you have it listed as E:/Poser or E:/Poser/Content?

And how eactl;y are you loading it when you're getting errors?

    Poser/Figures/Daz People/[Actor] Victoria 4.2

I don't have a problem loading the figure. I just don't get all the parts with it for posing.

Is that the exact path?  It's not Poser Formats > Content > Figures etc.?

As I understand it the Content folder can only be seen in the Daz directory tree in Daz4. I don't even think the Content directory was visible in Daz3, but it's been a while.

There is a Content directory if you browsed the hard drive, but from within Daz, the Poser directory does not show one.

You have DS looking in the folder "E:\Poser [Non DAZ]" for the Runtime, but if the Runtime is actually in "E:\Poser [Non DAZ]\content" then DS can't find it.

That doesn't make sense unless I'm missing something. Everything loads fine, clothes, morphs, poses. The only thing that's not playing is partial parts of the base figures. We're talking 10% of my runtime. If DS was pointed to the wrong directory I wouldn't be able to load or locate anything surely?

Can you post a screenshot of your Content Directory Manager with Poser Formats expanded?

Post a screenshot of the mappings from the Content Directory Manager (Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager) and the directory list from your OS file manager...

And with the generation 4 morphs if they are not in the correct location they won't load, but the reset of the figure could load.

Also you can have problems if you didn't run the script to 'finalize' the install...but usually that doesn't throw an error if not run, it just doesn't load the morphs...
