Individual Body Part Morphing

I've tried this several times, did some searching through not just this forum but others and worked through the online "manual" wiki and I either missed it, or I'm blind.

I've tried to figure out how to make morphs for the Genesis figures (M/F, 1, 2 and 3) for just teeth via Studio-Hex.  Hiding everything in Studio but say, the upper jaw portion and sent to Hex still has the entire figure show up.  I'm asking about this type of morphing because I've found (for me) using the Studio/Hex bridge works best for my work flow.  Does anyone else know if there's something I missed here?  Or where I can find the instructions on that online or in the manual?  I'm not about taking a short cut with someone simply telling me, just the right place to look so I can note it for future reference when I need to use it again.

Thank you.

  • A morph will not do anything to areas of the mesh that aren't changed, so work on the whole figure OBJ but chnage only the teeth or whatever. This is true however you create the morph, via a bridge or via OBJ export/morph import.

  • True, I got that.  However, getting to the teeth in Hex is nigh impossible without messing up some portion of the face mesh, or the tongue, or the gums.  I was hoping to find a way to not have anything BUT the teeth import via the bridge.  I was told that wasn't possible by another vendor, so I may just let it go.

    Thanks, Richard.

With Hex, yes, it is pretty much impossible...but in other modellers it is not.   Hiding/masking the parts you aren't morphing are what you need to be able to do.

  • I haven't used Hexagon for ages, but could you select the teeth by Surface, translate them up ten (or whatever) units, make your changes, then translate them back down before sending back to DS?
