All my Genesis 2 female characters load with wrong morph (solved)

BastrupBastrup Posts: 42

I have no idea how this happened but all all my Genesis 2 female characters load with the girl base morph set to 0,50 plus a few others.

Even the Genesis 2 base female load with them. I've tried reinstalling the moprh packs and the starter essentials but that didn't work.

Then I tried reinstalling Daz Studio too, didn't work either. I then zeroed the figure to the base and overwrote the original installed by the starter essentials installer, still didn't work.

I'm sure it's something I did when saving a character earlier that causes this but I tried deleting that too, reinstalling all the above and still nothing changed.

I'm now back to the original installer files, but still have the same problem. I can use my characters but I have to zero the figure and the reapply the character. It works but is really annoying.

Any help how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Lars

  • If the morph has beens aved with a non-zero value (most likely either an add-on morph that links to the Daz morphs, or you saved the changes via File>Save as>Support Assets>Save Modified Assets) then the fix is to change the morph with the bad default - reisntalling the base, or the morph sets if theya re being indirectly set, won't help. Load the figure, then in the Parameters pane go to the Currently Used group - that will show the non-zero morphs. Now, if you reisntalled one or more of those and they are still set click the gear icon on the slider and select Parameter Settings from the menu, then look at the Controllers tab at the bottom to see what might be influencing them - with luck you will find everything traces back to a single morph in the Currently used list, and that is your culprit - try changing it's default value (also in the Parameter Settings) to zero and then use File>Save as>Support Assets>Morph Asset to rsave it, or simply remove it; if it's a store product and not a freebie report it as a bug.

I  saved the character I think is causing this as a scene subset because it was fully clothed.

I just deleted everything I made myself and still every character is loading with the girl base set to 0,50 and Monique head set to 0.11.

I tried your suggestions the best I could but being new to Daz Studio I'm having some problems finding my way around, so it didn't work. I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't do it right.

I think I'll try uninstalling Monique and all the other Genesis 2 female characters and morph packs and start with a fresh install of everything and then try your suggestions again.

    Thanks for the help

Well, that didn't work either. No matter what I do the girl base morph loads with every character, the base female, V6, Monique, Lilith and so on.

I don't understand how this is even possible. Anyway, I'm now installing the starter essentials through Daz Connect again because apparently DIM and Daz Connect don't know what the other has installed,

and I had installed it through both earlier. Probably a really bad idea. If this doesn't work I think I'll just give up.

I can still use all the characters I bought in the store but have to zero the figure and reapply the character, so they work, just not as they used to.

    Yay, everything works again.

I uninstalled Monique, zeroed the figure and saved both as a morph and figure asset and overwrote the base figure and now everything is back to normal.

    Thank you so much Richard.

Find the morph that is on, click the gear icon on its slider. Check the Default value is zero, if not set it to zero, click Accept, and use File>Save as>Support Assets>Morph Asset to resave it. If the default is zero then use the Controllers tab in Parameter Settings to see what is driving the morph and repeat the steps with that morph.

What is the controllers tab? I don't see anything like that.

Right now, I went into edit mode selected them all and hit unlock.

I've been going in and chaning each one to 0, but just on the slider... Do I need to do something else? I couldn't change tme as a group.

I was then goign to relock them.

Ah,, Controller tab on the individual parameter...

Don't know what this means, though...seems to be it's contol is itself?

Those are rigging adjustments, so that the figure itself bends correctly when the main morph is applied. If you are looking at those (which should ultimately be Sub-components of the shaping morph, not controllers) then you are almost certainly in the wrong place.

When I clicked on show hidden properties on G2F's Currently Used, it had the Genesis morphs and all the reds.

I zeroed the genesis, but it didn't get rid of the reds., So I'm zeroing those.

G2M didn't have any of the reds non 0'd.

Possibly a better question might be, where does this info live, as perhaps an out of program solution might be better..swapping files from another install.

Well, finished the zeroing, and that didn't do it..

  • Scavenger, I was having the same problem with Genesis I.

I was getting an odd mix of Hitomi, Aiko 5, and Basic male loading in on EVERYTHING.

This was ESPECIALLY...disconcerting...when I loaded my G1 Superman...and NOW found out he had a toonified sex change...angry

I came here, read, and then went and clicked on the 'cog' on those morphs, and called up the Parameter Settings for each of them.

I checked the Default...and, sure enough, on EACH of them, it was set to '1.0'.

I changed each to '0.0', and then 'Save Modified Assets'.

    Closed the file...reopened...

Superman is now relieved to be a SuperMAN again... :D

"NOW you KNOW...and KNOWING is HALF the BATTLE!" :D
