OOT Messy Low Ponytail materials don't work (SOLVED)

OOT Strand-Based Messy Low Ponytail materials don't work at all for me. I can't figure out what is wrong. I have the hair fit to and parented to G9. I tried applying the hierarchical material presets to Messy Low Ponytail Hair, Messy Low Ponytail Strands, Messy Low Ponytail Cap and even G9. Nothing changed color at all. I turned on Generate PR Hairs and Preview PR Hairs for Iray Preview. I did a real Iray render. No matter what I do, the hair never changes color. There are no errors in the log file, like normally would happen if I had the wrong hierarchical parent. The hair renders, the material presets just won't change the color. I can apply an Omni hair SHADER just fine, and it works. It is just the material presets that came with the product that don't work at all.
Am I making a mistake? Does this product work for anyone else? What is the magic?

Is there another strand-based hair in the scene with you? I had this problem with multiples and after I deleted one of them, I was able to change the color of the remaining hair. Not ideal, I know, but it worked!

They work for me with Genesis 9 selected.

Yes, there is! I am going to try that. Thanks.

@Visuimag That was it! Two strand-based hairs in the same scene caused the problem. Wow. Not ideal, is right. That needs to be fixed! (Both hairs were on the same G9, because I was combining bangs with hair without bangs.)
