Content Missing & Unable to Download

I've recently reinstalled Daz on a new machine as iRay was constantly crashing my old one. I installed 4.8 originally, but as I had over 50Gb of assets to download through DIM, the 4.9 upgrade came out before I had redownloaded everything.

Looking at 4.9 now, several items are showing in the Content view as not downloaded (even though when I look at them in DIM, they show as already downloaded and installed). When I try to install them through the Daz client using Connect, it will start and then just freeze at 20%, never getting any further. Also, I notice that it is redownloading the packages in to a directory on my C Drive - which I reserve for my OS only... all my other Daz directories are on other drives.

I've checked the locations in Preferences and the directory set up for DIM to download to is configured, yet a large number of my DIM downloads are not showing in the content view.

I have two questions:

1 - How can I get the items I have downloaded through DIM to appear in the content view without having to be redownloaded?

2 - How can I change the default download directory for DAZ Connect to a different drive?

Cheers!

  • 1. The items should be showing, they will show as downloadable as you haven't downloaded them through Connect but that won't stop them from working (the only downside will be that you can't get per-file updates). The stalling at 20% sounds odd - are you sure it's not just that it whips through the first 20% as it is copying from the DIM install (which it will do as long as the files are the same in content and are compressed) and then hitting one that needs downloading? If so, open a support ticket please.

    2. Open the Content Directory Manager (Content Library paen option menu, the lined button in the top corner or right-click the tab) and change the DAZ Connect directory. Note that if that isn't already a DAZ Studio Format content directory you will either need to merge its Data folder with the Data folder in an existng content directory or you wil need to add it as a DAZ Studio Format content directory.
