how to cut a wall?

I'm working on some objects in a house and I want to be able to cut the wall quickly without deleting the other part. Is this possible?

If there are edges in the right place you can use the Geometry Editor to select the polygoins you wish to lose, then right-click to get the delete option - if not, or if you need to bridge any exposed edges, then you will need to use an external aplication like Hexagon or Blender.

If these's a convenient texture map for the wall, you can always add an opacity map with a black rectangle for the hole. You'll get awkward edges (as in no geometry corresponding to wall thickness (same with Richard's geometry editing)), but that's usually a simple fix in post.

If each wall is a seperate object, you can sometimes use them like pieces of a construction kit, duplicating them and sliding them around to create the floor plan you want.

If it is just a wall, no doors or windows, you could just scale it back on it's horizontal dimension and then adjust the texture in the geometry section of the surfaces.
If it has doors and windows you can set the view to wire shaded or wire texture shaded and use mesh grabber to adjust the space between them.

but no matter what you do ... copy the wall section first and work on the copy and if using the geometry editor change the name of the surface you are cutting on the copy because the editor will do the same to the original.
Daz will name something from item to item (2) if you copy it or create a duplicate but it doesn't change the name of the surfaces cutting part of one will cut the other.
