Latest Version use .DUF format?

I am considering cleaning my PC with a fresh install which means later I will re-install Daz Studio. I am currently using 4.7 and very comfortable, enjoying rendering very much. Now when I origianlly updated to 4.7 from 4.0 the last time I wiped my PC and started fresh, I lost all my old scenes becuase they were the old .DAZ format and they wouldn't load into new DAZ. Also, reconfiguring my Runtime took me hours (just when I had everything where I liked it!).

Question, is the latest version of studio still using .DUF format and will I be able to load my old scenes form 4.7?

Also, am I looking at another long bout of reorganizing my runtime. I currently have it in Documents/Daz3D/Studio3/Content/Runtime. Can I keep it there when I reinstall and will the new version of Daz (not sure which version is current) be able to access it like I do in 4.7?

Thanks for the help and advice.

As to the scenes...yes, the format is the same, but with any saved scenes, the file is pointers to content, elsewhere...so you will need the content somewhere that is listed in the scene file.

For the other...possibly, as long as you actually map it in Studio.

That isn't how it works. Did you only save the scene files from your pre-wiped computer? If so, then you lost all your old scenes because you didn't save the old /data/ folder from your Content location and merge it into the new /data/ folder after reinstalling. Content in native DAZ|Studio format would install its own /data/ files as a matter of course, but any Poser-format figures or props that you converted to proper D|S assets (or allowed D|S to auto-convert) would fail to find the /data/ files that no longer exist, and therefore cause the scene load to fail. It is possible to recreate the /data/ files, but this can end up becoming a long and fiddly process.

There are occasional .daz scene files that just plain don't work any more in D|S4.5+ but most of my old scenes do still work perfectly.

So if I have poser content stuff that I use in Daz, stuff that from my old runtime, it would need to be converted? This is a bit confusing for me.

When loading it from, let's say the Poser formats Figures folder, it is automatically converted and dropped into the data/auto-adapted folder.  As long as that folder exists, it will be loaded from there.

If you move things and don't move the auto-adapted folder, then there is a very good chance the item won't be found.

Of course if you moved/installed all the content in the same location, it may be found by falling back looking for the original item.
