Blocked?

Hello,

I was trying to post a question to the forum about a clothing item and got a notification that I was blocked. Does anyone know why this may have happened? I did eventually get my question posted, but I had to remove the words Neanderthal and woman.

  • Sounds like a glitch or an automated system - we certainly weren't blocking you. If you can reproduce it, take a screenshot of the message saying you were blocked and post it here.

    Hi Richard,

I recreated the post and here is the message I got.

Here is a screenshot of the message itself and the clipped image I originally wanted to attach. When I tried to attach the clipped image of the clothing, then I got the blocked message.

When I changed the message wording to the following, everything worked:

"Hello can anyone identify the clothing used in this clipped image from this product https://www.daz3d.com/caveman-poses-for-neanderthal-9-and-xi-neanderthal-cave

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Edit: I also clipped the image a bit differently to only show the woman and not the man.

    Hi. IT guy here.

That looks like some kind WAF (Web Application Firewall). In the combination of your message, the link and something site api/script/code, a word pattern must be forming that triggers a 'signature' block. Cases like yours are usually false positives.

These bloks don't give the detail of what was wrong to the user, but they do provide some code for you to give the site owner (DAZ) for them to followup with the WAF provider (cloudflare). It is kind of small, but it is there, "Cloudflare Ray ID". With that Daz can follow up.

Perhaps do you use a VPN? If so, deactivate it, and you should not be blocked anymore.

I have had VPN issues on a variety of sites and apps. With some, I can set to disable ad blockers per site, others I must disable the VPN to use the site. YouTube, even though I set the ad blocker to disabled, still thinks I have one and have to refresh the page once or twice and then it plays.

  • It's a Cloudflare block, I can't see any reason your post would trigger it (the usual issue is soemthing that looks like code, presumably because it is trying to protect against code-injection attacks).

Well, thanks for the replies everyone. I managed to get around it to post my question by changing some wording so it worked out in the end. Weird though, I've never had that happen before.

  • thought it sounded like an AI thing I'm asuming Daz using that tech like so many other do now too, on Facebook there are are a lot of words you can't use or combinations of words nothing offensive btw you have to come up with different wording which sometimes you gotta reread a few times to work out what the poster is talking about because it becomes very cryptic
