The CMService is taking forever to install

The Content Management Service is taking a lot of time to install.  I stopped it once so it uninstalled the new Daz 3D 4.9.  I restarted the 4.9 installation by hand again as the install manager doesn't seem to want to work.

Oh.  Is the Genesis 3 that shows up the same as Victoria 7?

I started the new version of Daz3D, 4.9 while the Content Management Service keeps on "installing."

Are you installing on Windows?

Are you running ZoneAlarm? (usually it only creates problems running Postgre, but I wouldn't rule out it blocking the install of Postgre)

Oh!  Windows 7. No Zone Alarm. So Postgre is the Content Managment Service?  BTW.  I stopped the installation of the CMS while 4.9 was open, and it didn't go away, in ram at least.  I better check.

Then it may be hanging on a VC runtime check/install...I think it needs one of the newer runtimes redistributables (2013?)   It's something that later versions of Windows have already.   I had problems with the beta on my Win7 machine until I updated, but I don't remember which one Postgre needed.  (yes, it should fetch it from Windows update if it isn't in the installer, but it was failing on that machine.

The other way round, sort of. All the Genesis figures (Genesis, Genesis2 and Genesis3) are the base figures you get in your free Starter Essentials packs. Victoria 7 (and all the other "7" products) are characters you buy from the store to add on to Genesis.
