Problems with some Connect installed content
I'm running into problems with content installed with Connect. This is on a system where I had completely cleared my library and went with Connect only install of all DAZ content (excepting of course the tiny handful of things that can't install that way such as the Generation 4 figures.)
Certain products: Andoria City, Urban Sprawl 2, Ysaris Hair, and a handful of others seem to be using .daz format files to load their products. For whatever reason, they are unable to find their geometries and other files in the Connect created directory. It can be worked around by setting the content folder as a Daz Content runtime, but this isn't ideal. These products indicate their inability to find files but 'load' blank into the scene and give no option to locate the missing files during loading.
The other kind of product I'm having trouble with seem to be certain expansion products. Haven't had as much time to go over these as I did the others, but they're products made as expansion sets to other products such as The New Adventure Expansion or Complicated Eve Expansion. They seem to be poser file based so far, and call on files outside their particular product. Haven't tried adding the base products as individual poser runtimes yet, but that may work though again far from ideal. These do ask to locate missing resources and can be made to work by finding them, though you can imagine the difficulty when you don't have the product numbers memorized. (Especially for The New Adventure since it draws from two products.)
I've got a ticket in for the first group, thinking I'll likely need to put one in for the second as well as there's a few products like that in the store and they aren't ready to be discarded as obsolete just yet.

Thanks, those are rather large for me to download to test but if you've reproted them hopefully support can check the issues. I don't have Complicated Eve, not sure about the New Adventures Expansion.
I'm not sure what others it might occur with, but it seems the principle is just one of it not looking beyond it's own Connect created directory for resources for the poser file based items, and not looking at the Connect directory at all for the .daz items. Doesn't help that it's hard to see outside a clean setup. It seems if it can find the files elsewhere such as a prior DIM install, it'll use them from there.
Yes, and I have seveal of those sets from pre-DIM instalaltions, on different machines so no unisntaller, which is going to make finding them and deleting them a pain.
Yeah, that's one reason I did a mostly clean install on my laptop is to deal with all the orphaned and duplicated files from multiple installs (not just of daz products). Lost a lot of older stuff, but I'm sure it's on one of the hundred or so backup discs around here if I really need it
