Stage Light Spotlight

Can anyone suggest how I arrange a single beam spotlight on a figure on stage? I am looking doing a scene with a singer and a microphone just lit up with the spotlight! Some settings would be useful! Cheers

If you are just using a single spotlight, I think you will get some harsh shadows.

I would suggest one spotlight and some weaker fill-lights to male the shadows softer.

Are you wanting to be able to see the cone of the light? If so you need soemthing to scatter the light rays (a solid primitive with a dispesive or VDB material, the lightand camera placed outside the solid). Or you could just fake it with a semi-transparent cone.
