Question about the licenses

Short and simple: I got inspired long time ago by the Date Ariane dating sim and wanted to learn to make some visual novels the same (already had some experience making visual novels but never had any art for them). So I'm assuming I need to get the Interactive License when I buy stuff from the shop. My only question is can you ONLY buy the license at the time of original purchase or can you buy the item and then get the license for it later? I know this is probably a stupid newbie question but I just wanna cover my bases before I buy the stuff I got saved for what I need

  • You can buy the license after initial purchase.

(THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE, CONSULT AN ATTORNEY FOR ANY LEGAL QUESTIONS)

As i understand it, the only reason you'd need that license is if your game requires the orginal figure's mesh data and/or textures.

If it's a VN, you really don't need that as you'll be using stills and prerendered animation.

  • The inteactive license is rquird if your game includes the mesh and/or textures, or derivatives of hem. If it is just renders (2D images created by rendering/taking a screenshot  of the content in Daz Studio or another 3D or hybrid application) then the additional licenses are not required.

  • Moved to Art Studio as it is not a Daz Studio application topic.
