Tutorial for Creating LuxCore Shaders?

Just curious. I've been playing a little bit with the shaders provided in the test scene, but I'm not really getting the rules. I am getting where to place things, but I don't know how to make colors affected by noise patterns (like the old Gradient with Noise in the subshader trick), so I can't make mats like, say, soil or marble. Any tips?
(I have been doing the same in Blender and LuxRender for a couple years, but I prefer Carrara so much more for my workflow, so it's not that I don't know LuxRender. I'm just having hiccup with LuxCore.)

There are a few hints here, in the Shaders paragraph, but not sure if it is what you need:

Yeah, I've visited there again and again, and looked at screenshots. I guess my only real problem is just patterned shaders, thanks. :)
Maybe this Blender tutorial will help a little:
