DAZ3D Roadmap request

Dear DAZ team,

I have been a user of DAZ3D since version 3.0 and have enjoyed its development over the years.

That being said, I feel that development has become stagnant to the point that nothing really new is added to the program.

Many requested features like soft body physics are only possible with a limited add-on.

Would it be possible for you to share your high-level roadmap of what's on the radar for the next 12/24 months?

On the contrary, I personally would rather see Daz developers focus on fixing bugs than developing more new features in DS 4.x.

On the other hand, new features better be developed in DS 5.x which better be released at ealier time ( many many years pass by...)

Now in DS Public Build version, I can see some "new features" but some of them are not really useful... Besides, some key features / functions that used to work well now don't work, let alone the new bugs... low performance, yada yada ~~

So most of the time, we're in need of solid fix in times of trouble rather than "more beautiful icing on the cake" ~~

  • They never say anything about what is going on, they treat that as some kind of trade secret.

Which shows why they are reluctant to pre-announce things

That will be true for some people regardles

I am glad that DAZ has developed Filament a bit more and added FilaToon to the mix (even though it is still somewhat unfinished). However, it is a step in the right direction and opens up more lower/middle end markets. Not everyone has a RTX 4090 but there is money in those markets. There exists willing spenders even if they do not have a higher end machine to render Iray all day. They just want to see a good result within a reasonable time. I hope the DAZ product team (and Tafi) will see this and consider it.

Rich, you are doing honest work on these forums and single handedly keeping the lights on - along with many willing helpers on the forum. Same with the DAZ dev team who uses their own personal time to shore up our knowledge and documentation. It goes to show how much folks within DAZ and everyone out here want to see DAZ succeed.
