Using clothing listed for ds4.9 with ds 4.8?

I found some clothing items that I really like here at Daz [Girlish Fashion- Daz Original- Sarsa].  The compatable software is listed as Daz Studio 4.9.  I would like to use it in Studio 4.8.  I already have the Lucid Dream for G3F that is required.  Will I be able to use this item in DS4.8?

What is the criteria to tell if a [G3F] item would work in DS4.8 if the compatable software is DS4.9?

    If the Install Types says "Daz Connect Encrypted" then it requires 4.9, otherwise it should work in 4.8.

    That's a texture set for the Lucid Dreams outfit...which came out back in December...which is before 4.9 was released.

    That "Compatible Software" tag is something that's been confusing people for years. It doesn't actually mean it was made for D|S4.9 and won't work for earlier versions, it means the item has the current D|S format file type, which was introduced with D|S4.5. It isn't even a piece of text on the store page that says "4.9", it's just a placeholder that updates automatically to show the current version number.

    Note that if the Compatible tag only shows "DAZ Studio" with no version number, then it's either Poser-only (but will load into D|S), or it was made for a pre-4.5 version of D|S (but should still load properly).

    DAZ really ought to fix that, it's been complained about often enough.

    Please Daz but from Daz X to 4.9; you introduced the horror that is connect to help customers; this would be easier and accomplish something useful.
