DIM shows strange Entries for already installed Products

Hi,

since about a week ago there are 39 out of 340 products shown in DIM as if I hadn't installed them yet. Mostly the PoserCF, ps versions.
Did something strange happen to the user's purchased products database on the DAZ server?

Do they show up in the Installed tab also?

My guess would be that at least a few of them are items that were originally installed as either Poser or Legacy files, and now there are Studio format updates for them.

The caveats for this are: (1) Because they're actually new files, rather than strict updates, they show up in the New Files section and not as you would expect in the updates, and (2) because they're also updates, they show up in the New files more or less where the original format file would have been, in terms of date of purchase/installation instead of up at the top, AND (3) because the Poser format files themselves have been updated -- usually with metadata, I think -- they ALSO show up in the updates section.

No, none of that makes a huge amount of sense, but that's the way it works.

If you do a search on the New/Updates panel in DIM for " ds" (there is a space in front of the DS), I suspect at least a few of those will show new Studio format files.

So does it mean, you saw the same effects?

Only for YT Julie that was under updates, all other as "new" purchased, although I bought them 2013 and 2014.

And yes, it is ridiculous, cause now it is "not that easy" to identify the files belonging to currently purchsed products.

Yes, I've seen some of the same thing. I was wondering why Poser files were appearing in the wrong place in DIM for items I already had installed.

My sort order is by "date purchased", though, so maybe that makes it easier to see? Not sure.

  • I fired up DIM again today and according to it, none of my files, including Daz Studio itself, are installed.

Obviously incorrect, but not sure how to fix it.

Does the folder ManifestFiles exist (default location is in the same location as the Downloads folder)?  Does it have any files in it?

Nope.  And looking back, I deleted it.  Thought it was an older directory from a previous installation.  My bad.

    Sigh.

Might you have a backup of it?  If not, did you save the downloaded zips?
