I am curious, how hard is it to adapt your shaders for Octane? I use it more than iray actually and in Carrara too, I am used to using ctl to apply DZdefault to stuff for Octane keeping maps but of course all the other fancy brick settings are lost.

I am using iray more and bought your shaders specifically because of that but tend to go between software a lot, Carrara still being my main choice.

Hi Cath! These shaders look FANTASTIC!  Can't wait to see them appear in the store.  I am so glad there is someone smart enough to figure all this stuff out :)  (It all goes so far my head.) Specially excited about the wood and the candy, that is a great idea!  And of course the fabrics... Well, ALL of it lol.  Can't wait!   -Cathy

  • *drools* They look so good!! Can't wait to see more sexy wood promos!! You didn't actually gather the photo resources from around the world, did you?

Wendy, you will have all the textures, normals etc.. since all is already controled by maps you have to do nothing but make sure everything is pluged in the right channel where it belongs , since my shaders are regularry based on specular channel it will works everywhere else no matter the program as all data are saved in the maps , easy cake

It does have a very nice grain.  How in the world are you getting non repeating, huge textures or something else?

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

The tiled one are 1024 x 1024 but the floor one are  500 x1250

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

Look Richard the scale between Genesis and the objects , the textures are only 1024x1024  so they can be scaled up and down for anything no matter the size of the object

You can also add normals for special effects on top and scale it to match your needs

    1.Load your model

    2. Apply wood of choice

    3. apply normal effect

    4. scale

One of my absolute favorite woods.  In fact, I have a drop spindle favorited on Etsy made from this wood that is really gorgeous.  I'm sold already on this volume.  Everything looks absolutely wonderful.  Nice work all around.  Amy  Any idea when it might make it into the store?  Ballpark estimate?

Definite, absolute must-have product!  Is it mid-March yet?  Dammit a leap-year; an extra day to wait.  Blast those wretched astronomers ...! :)

  • Holy...(censor yourself TI sheesh) lol.  Those teaser images look awesome!!!  I use vol. 1 on just about anything to do with metal and now am definitely looking forward to vol. 2!  Amazing job.

  • KeryaKerya Posts: 10,943

To tell the truth ... I didn't get Vol.1, I am not much into metals and the like.

But wood. WOOD! Love organic shaders!

OK, and Gummy bears - who can resist gummy bears? LOL

(one question: mahogany? Please? the one that has that shimmery 3deffect? https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Mahagoni_Furnier_hochglanzlackiert.jpg )
