Reinstall only Poser files?

  • I set up a new computer with Win 10 a while back.
  • I then did adid a standard install of DS 4.9 and have been testing it to see if I want to use it, or stick with 4.8 (I'll probably upgrade soon, though -- I like 4.9).I've been installing my DS content for about two months, and it was the only 3D program on that computer.
  • I have now done a standard install of Poser 11 on that same computer, and I want to install all of my Daz Poser content for it to use.
  • Today, I just set up the paths for Poser 11 in my DIM settings. And it's working correctly. But now I would like to go back and install EVERYTHING for Poser. But the DIM (rightly for DS, but wrongly for Poser) thinks this stuff is already installed.

What would be the best practice for this? I really don't want to download everything all over again. I poked around in the DIM Downloads section and saw that I could, basically, "Deselect Installed All Tagged Poser 9+" but I'm not sure that's the correct thing to do.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

NOTE: I would REALLY  like to avoid having to do manual installations on each and every Poser Product I have. I will if I have to, but that will take most of the weekend, and I'd rather actually use my software than spend it fiddling around with manual installations.

  • If the content is installed just point Poser to the content duirectory as an external Runtime, no need to install things twice.

  • Richard: You're correct. I don't have to reinstall the items, but there are some I would like to install to a specialized Runtime for a project I'm working on.

Is it possible to reinstall only Poser Content based on the criteria I listed above?

  • I wasn't quite sure what it was you were proposing to do - uninstall and reinstal the items tagged Poser 9+? If you didn't keep the zips you would still need to redownload.

I don't mind downloading files again. I guess I'll either give this up for now, or manually install what I want into the special Runtime.
