How to increase the digital resolution of the UV-Map stored by HEXAGON

When I create an object and save the UV Map, it only have a digital resolution of about 691x691 Pixel.

Is there any chance to save it with higher resolution (4096x4096 e.g.)?

You can use UV mapping software like UV Mapper (which has a free version) to save UVs as textures of any size.  I don't think Hexagon has that facility.

  • Anybody else who get me a solution?

You where given a solution, use something other POS Hexagon to output the map templates.

    Use blender. :)

Use blender .angel ( just import your obj with UV sets, and check it in UV and image  editor,, then save UV tempalte with your favorite resolution,,)

  • But I am working at a meermaid geografting with a UV part of the original Genesis. So I can create a smooth transition to the shed, I need a original Genesis UV part within the new UV-map. I think Blender or UV-Mapper do not realy help me in that case.

When you save your model in Hex, the UV mapping info is saved with it.  bring that into Blender, go to UV view, select the surfaces and it will be mapped.  Then hit 'new' and create a new image of the size you want...while having the selection made.  Then export the UV and save the model.

    That will 'upsize' it...

The thing is, Hex has very limited UV tools and anything else needs to be done externally

Yes,, You need not use blender, (if you do not like it  for your UV work flow)  to unfold or customize UV , you can use Hexagon or any app which you like. smiley

but You can use blender,  to save "current UV template as image for guide" ( you plan to make texture with UV template, will not?)

So I and otheres, say you can use Bledner (or UV mapper etc) .  when you export UV sets  with OBJ from other App (hexagon or daz studio,, carrara etc,,)

you can see it in Blender as same as before.. then  you can save UV template as  more high resolution,

for each Assgined surface if you need.
