Bend Control for Genesis 3 Females and Males (Commercial)

Zev0Zev0 Posts: 7,089

Shooo, so I finally finished this. Basically Bend Control is an automated system that enhances\corrects the hip and legs when those areas are bent. There are two master control dials that drive all the hidden correctors. So basically, you can control the strength of the changes on the hip area as well as on the legs to your liking. It will also have a few manula tweaking adjusters. Also, the hip correctors are seperated to each side, so if you bend one leg it will only apply to that side. On the previous Bend Control it applied to both. It supports all current figure shapes and will be updated when there are new ones. So it works in two ways - Pose a figure and then dial up the master controllers to see the changes, or you can leave it on and it will auto dial the corrector morphs in relation to what strength the master controllers are set at. Will have some comparison examples of what it can do soon.

Some more examples. Here we can see the difference the Hip Controller makes with a bit of the heavy morph dialled in.

It looks good, Zev0!  Definitely something I could use.  I love the products you make like this.  Of course, I love all of your products.  I don't suppose you are going to do a set for the guys this time around?  Would love morphs and bend controls for G2M and G3M.  While I love having these products for the girls and I do buy them, it would be nice to not have to go through a bunch of hoops or D-formers every time I want to try and pose a guy.  Your products make it so much easier to get realistic effects for the girls, and I realize that the girls are what most people are using and posing, but I mostly use, er, pose the men.  Every time I use one of your products on the girls, I get sad that the guys don't have similar products.

Bend Control was never intended to be a male product. But I will see how things go and how viable it will be.

Does clothing follow the bend control morphs well?

Yes it does. In some cases it fixes some groin creasing as well on clothing lol. So a nice side effect I suppose.

Great! I'd really like a fix to the way pant legs bulge over the thigh in a sitting pose.

Nice.  Will there be the ability to variably adjust the spead the pelvis, as would occur when straddling wide objects like a saddle versus something like a bike or motorcycle seat?

Well if you want you can dial up the hip expanding morphs manually if you want them to do so, where its not linked to the values of leg bending.

Maybe I should just hand over my bank details; would save me some time /nod

I would certainly appreciate it.  My morphing and D-former skills, while getting better, are sorely limited.  I still get some rather funky results when I try stuff like this on the guys myself.  And, your products always deliver and do exactly what I need when I'm posing a female character.  It would just be so nice to have that same flexibility for the guys.  However, I'll understand if it ends up not happening.  Not too sure how many others would want this as badly as I do.

Is there any chance of a version for the lower generations? I mean, I know it would be a lot of work (scratch that, I haven't got a clue, I am just guessing it is because nobody has managed to do it right) but, well, insta-buy and all that. Insert Futurama meme.

Busy on that this month as well. I hope to have both ready. But, I need to test the relationship between Bend control and Glute control which is taking all the time.

I don't think I will create for older figures to be honest. There are already similar offerings available. If there wasn't, then I would probably consider it. But I would rather focus my time getting content done for the current gen figures.

There's a bad joke waiting to happen there, but I won't drop to that level.

    Oops.  I just did.

    plus: looks good, must have

minus: Man, I'll have to redo some renders.

  • marblemarble Posts: 7,500

When I look at the comparison pictures I have to wonder why it takes a PA to come along and fix what clearly should have been done right in the first place. This happens with every generation - I already have bend fixers for V4 and G2F.  While I am glad that Zev0 and others are here to help, these things don't come cheap and should not be necessary.

That's the hard part sometimes. Sometimes things look fine at the time until you dig deep and realize there is room for improvement later down the line.

I hope you don't think that I was including you in any complaint, Zev. I know from past dealings and your direct help that you are an honest and honourable vendor so there was no cynicism intended. I will always trust and buy your products - often they make the difference between having puppets or people in my renders. But that is really my point - I've been buying since Victoria 3 and you would think they would notice something like glute or thigh bends that don't look natural, especially when each previous generation has had similar bending issues.

Anyhow, while you are at it, can't you fix the G3F nipples too? The default ones look like low-poly cones.

I understand where you coming from and I didn't take anything personal lol. Was more explaining why certain things aren't included from the get go. Regarding nipples, unfortunately g3 polygons in that area are lower than g2, so the only way to remedy that is by creating an hd morph. When I have time I will try and update Shapeshift to include such a morph. However you will have to render at a higher sub level.

No problem - I do anyway - Luxrender requires Subd level 3 just to render HD. I have Shapeshift so I'll look forward to an update. :)

    What sort of morph?

Just something to make the button appearing to be in or out, more believable, and more shape options.
