Just Installed DAZ 4.9 for first time, error message

Used DIM to download and install DAZ.  Got this message upon first launch of Studio:

Resource error

A valid Postgre SQL CMS connection could not be established. Several DAZ studio features that require a valid PostgreSQL CMS connection, such as context aware content views and loading content installed using the Daz Connect Service, will not be available. Check your network, anti-virus, and firewall settings for conflicts.

This happens whether I'm connected to the internet or not.  System: Win 8.1.  Using Windows Defender as my anti-virus, Windows Firewall as firewall, both of which presumably play nice with Studio.  Suggestions?

Do you have anything showing up in Content Library > Products/Categories?

Additional information: selected START CMS, entered my email and password (Remember me is checked) and metadata started to update, the problem is that everytime I start DAZ Studio I have to do this each time!  Still missing current purchases.

I'm showing nothing under my content library.

More info about my system: this is a fresh install on a new computer, so there are no older Studio installs, no content libraries being carried over.  The only content on the new system is, or at least should be, the Genesis 1-3 Starters Essentials, which I had DIM download and install.  All my paths should therefore be default.

I'm getting the same thing, I just closed 4.8 after a render and used DIM to install 4.9.  Now it is unusable, can I get 4.8 back?

After I installed 4.9, I noticed some missing files in my Content Library.  However, after checking the settings in the Content Directory Manager, I noticed that the location folders for my content had been changed to "4.8 My Libary" and "4.8 My DAZ 3D Library" or some such folder (I don't remember the exact names).  All I had to do was to remove the incorrect directories and add the correct location/directories of my two content libraries and now everything works OK.  Perhaps someone else will experience the same and can be prepared.

Fixed my issues.  Uninstalled DAZ Studio and CMS, making sure DAZ folders in Program Files were empty, deleted them.  Did not touch my DAZ Library.  Manually downloaded and installed DAZ Studio making sure it pointed to my DAZ library (the one in Public) and then ran DIM to reload CMS.

  • Hold on... CMS is a separate download?  indecision I thought DIM installed CMS automatically when it installed Studio.

No, it's a separate package, "PostgreSQL CMS".

  • Well, file this one under "d'oh!"  I hadn't download the CMS file yet.  That caused the error.  I've installed the CMS now and everything's working fine.

Thanks to TraceSL and Fixmypcmike for your help!
