Need to COMPLETELY delete DAZ Install Manager (SOLVED!)

New laptop install, and I put the DIM on it. Went in to set things up, and due to distractions at a really bad time, didn't realize that i had basically utterly FUBARed that install of the DIM. My issue now is that, even if I uninstall it, reboot and then reinstall, it comes up with the old settings - the FUBARed ones. How do I completely remove the program, so that Win 7 sees no sign that it ever existed? (BOOTCAMP on a late 2008 MacBook Pro, if that's important.)

I will be reinstalling it after I've cleaned the system of its existence, because I need it to have the default settings, but I NEED those defaults. I really don't want to have to hose the Win7 install and start all over again, but I will if I absolutely have to. (Followed a couple things I found, by the way, which recommended clearing the registry of the DAZ3D references. I was VERY careful in doing so, and that did NOT clear my issue, so I know I'm missing something.)

Kinda wish there was a "Restore to Original Install" button somewhere in DIM...

Somewhere in your AppData (maybe Roaming) there will be a InstallManager folder...in that are 3 ini files.  Those should be the ones you need to remove.,,maybe just Account.ini (that's your personalized info/settings), the other two deal with the layout/size/program itself type stuff. Those two should be replaced on reinstall, the account one is created after the install, once you enter your details, so it wouldn't be removed during an uninstall (common thing....only the files that are installed/created by the installer are removed by the uninstaller)l.

  • Thank you, mjc1016! That was exactly what I needed. Now I can get this setup back to the way I intended it to be.

And with this thread header phrased the way it is, maybe someone else won't go through the annoyance of Googling for an hour or so, looking for the simple info you just gave me.laugh

    Again, thank you!
