Genesis 3 Starter Essentials Not Installing/Not Found

I'm at my wits' end. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this myself, after finally discovering what the problem even was and so now I turn to you. I built a new computer and I'm trying to download and install all my Daz stuff to it. Every other program is working without a hitch, but Daz won't install Genesis 3 Starter Essentials. It certainly appears to, but when I go to load Genesis 3 Female or Male or anything in that package, I get an error saying the file does not exist. I downloaded everything through the DIM and all else works fine except for this one package. Even Genesis 2 Starter Essentials works. Problem is, I am a vendor and I can't get any work done without the base figure. What is going on?

The packages are showing as installed in DIM, not still in ready to Install with an Install Failed note?

  • Right. They download, install and show as installed. But when I go to the icon to load it in Daz, it tells me that the file is not found.

The .duf file (the one you are clicking on) or the .dsf file (the one that specifies the geometry and rigging? Are you looking in Smart Content or under DAZ Studio Formats in the Content Library pane?

  • I'm using Content Library. But neither of them work.

  • Any ideas why the Genesis 3 Starter Essentials alone won't load?

What is the exact error message?

That is a typical error when the content folders are not mapped correctly.

Can you post a screenshot of the Content Directory Manager (Preferences > Content Library >Content Directory Manager) with both the Daz and Poser formats fully expanded?

  • Here it is.

Should have asked for the DIM install folders, too...sorry.

What exactly do you need a screenshot of?

Or find Genesis 3 Female starter Essentails in the Isntalled tab of DIM, right-click on it and select Show Installed Files, then post a screenshot showing the path listed at the top.

  • Okay.

That matches. In the Content Library are you using the icon under DAZ Studio Formats>My DAZ 3D Library>People>Genesis 3 Female?

  • Yes, I always use the purple icon with black silhouette.

  • The .duf file is in My Daz 3D Library and I can click on it and open Genesis 3 Female in a new window of Daz Studio, but I can't use anything else that came with the starter set. Also, it appears that some things that rely on Starter Essentials aren't working either.

Have you previously installed the Genesis 3 Starter Esentails with Daz Connect?

  • No, actually this is the first time I enabled Daz Connect. Not sure if this screen cap helps. But everything that doesn't load has this NEW brand on it.
