Daz 4. !!!###!!! 9 arghhh
Sorry but my expletive about this darn program was unprintable. I have several issues with this piece of junk!
One. I have spent a fortune on Daz Studio, why in Goodness Knows Name they had to invent 4.9 I will never know.
I notice that Daz has a run time now! it never used to!
Two. I have tried everything to get anything to work. Save a DUF. its DUFF alright, I wish I had poser I really wish I had poser sobs.
Three. yes emotional female here, don't tell me there no more of me.
Whats a girl to do, I have loaded Star 3 times and she is still coming out like someone in Combo!
Third time Lucky ! my Mum said I should Shoot Star and buy another one.
I hasten to add I am 48 not 2 but dear Lord this program is enough to send me into a raging tantrum!
For the Love of all Things Old, can we have a new program that looks like 4.5 or Daz One, and isn't fracking Iray! or fracking 4.9.
Apparently I now have to tell the forum I am not a robot! if I where this would have short circuted me for certain.
I have another Issue.
Can't save a Duf file if you have already saved one or if the program doesn't want to save your hard work!!!!
Mum said I should get rid of the program, and may be she's right, wonder if I can sell my Runtime on Ebay?
Now I have to identify all the fracking palm trees incase I am a robot.

Did you install the package for Daz or for Poser? There are 2 pacages iirc...
I'm not sure what you mean by "Daz has a run time" - the Runtime folder has always been used to store Poser content, and to store texture files for all content. However you shouldn't see the folder named Runtime in your Content Library pane.
What is the problem with Star - loading as blocks? That, along with a visible Runtime folder if you have that, would suggest a problem with the path settings.
If you get Save as rather than Save that means the Author information doesn't match that in the file, or is missing entirely. It's to prevent (or at least reduce the chance of) overwriting content files.
We apologise for the captcha - we've been hit very badly with spam and it was an attempt to slow the flood.
I installed Daz Studio file trying to save some disk space
Thanks Richard, I apologise for my break down, I have had loads of issues with Daz studio lately, someone had to suffer, Daz connect is useless as well, I will sort it, its just good to rant now and again x
What Renomista was getting at is that you don't need to install the Poser versions. I recognize you're frustrated, but lots of folks are posting 4.9 renders. Also you don't have to use Iray.
While some items and menus have changed, there still isn't all that much difference in program appearance between 4.5 and 4.9.
What I got from your post is that you're having trouble with one model. As Richard said, it's very likely that the path where Daz is expecting to see content isn't the path where you have installed content. That would be the first thing to check.
I think you're having a similar problem to the one I had when I updated to 4.9. I was having problems loading, or even finding older items from the previous version. I did a bit of searching and found out that DIM and 4.9 were using a different folder than what I was using for 4.7. DIM and 4.9 should be using C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library by default, but 4.7 was using C:\Users\*private profile*\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library. I had to tell 4.9 to look in the old folder by going to edit>preferences>content library>content directory manager and then manually adding the old directory. You could also just merge the old directory to the new one, but that didn't occur to me until after I'd taken the steps to add the old directory.
