Just a little bit of levels correction on this one. I really liked how the raw render looked so I didn't want to fool with it too much.

    And then she said...

    Gorilla Test

Wow, wouldn't like to meet that guy out in the forest. Or anywhere, really. Although I know that Gorillas are actually the least dangerous of the great apes, relatively speaking.

    Sara

Ohmygosh, she's gorgeous! How does she look if you fiddle with the "Face Young" dial?

I have heard this before. Not sure if I'd want to test it or not though. :)

I don't know. I'll have to test that out and get back to you.

So in answer to @TigerAnne's question, this is what happens when you dial in the Face Young slider to Sara without Teen Jane 8:

    Sara without Teen Jane 8
    Face Young Dial @54%
    Cheeks Young Dial @49.50%

She looked good with just the Face Young dial, but I thought she needed some slightly chubbier cheeks which the Cheeks Young dial adds slightly. I like her slightly more rounded face. You do have to be careful not to add too much of the Face Young. Too much makes her mouth look a little deformed. I found that around 60% or less looked best.

For being a digital character, I have to say her smile is one of the best on any character I've found without having to resort to extreme measures.

I changed up the hair because I thought the short look framed the round face nicely.

I think she looks really cute. Definitely younger. This is mostly a straight render with only mild color adjustments done in GIMP 2. I love how she looks and I'm now completely obsessed with this character. She's quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Awww, she looks like one of my oldest friends now! (Or what the friend looked like at 13, anyway.)

A while back I purchased RareStone's morphs for The Girl 8. I've played with them a little, adding a few morphs here and there to various characters. Yesterday, I finally sat down to take a good look and try to create my very own character based on The Girl 8. I had a blast playing around with the different sliders. I wanted a quirky little character I could have some fun with. I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. I've named her Cia. I had some fun with some new Iray lights I picked up from @Sveva over at the other store and the bloom setting in DS. I think the render turned out pretty nice. I used skin from @Divamakeup's Diva Remix - Toons for Tika 8. I love this product. I'm still exploring all the different options. Divamakeup put so much stuff in there. Everytime I use it, I'm impressed. :)

I love these boots, Jiwoo Denim Boots for Genesis 8 Females. I think this is the first time I've rendered them since I bought them.

Let me know what you think.

And in her hair, LOL! I love her! The boots look great, although I have a fear of stiletto heels. surprise I've never been able to walk in them. The tiny leather belts and the little pocket are such cool details.

She does, doesn't she? I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it. I think she turned out adorably well. I'm very happy with her. I'm even cooking another render with her now.

I have this thing with boots. I think I've collected almost every digital boot available. I like wearing them myself, but I have to admit I only wear low heals when I buy boots for myself. I have no balance when it comes to anything higher than an inch and a half. Lol. I do love putting my digital people in them. I'm actually working making a pair of boots of my own. I saw these boots online and decided I had to have them but no one has made a 3D version as far as I can tell.

I want them so badly, but I've looked in every marketplace and no 3D boots like them anywhere so I'm making my own. It's the most adventurous modeling project I've ever tried and it's taking forever, but I'm not giving up.

Another image with my new character, Cia. I'm going to have to see if I can create a custom skin for her. For now, she's still using materials from the Diva Remix product. I need to figure out how to do fit morphs for her. Her breasts are an issue. I had to use Fit Control to fix the shirt. I have no idea how to go about creating a fit morph so I'll have to do some research.

@Divamakeup It's a great product. I'm having fun playing around with it. I still haven't picked up the Altern8 for The Girl 8 yet. That looks good, too. It's on my wishlist next time it's on sale. I could have sworn I bought it but when I went looking it wasn't in my product library so I must have accidentally taken her out of the cart the last time it was on sale. Bummer, but the Diva Remix product works great. I love that there is a no brow version so I can play with my own brows when I have time. So, until I get around to making a custom skin, this is what she's wearing. I have to say, the skin looks great in all kinds of lighting. You did a great job! :)

@Divamakeup Oops! Forgot to say thank you! And yeah, I like curvy so a lot  of my models end up curvy even if they don't start that way out of the box. :)

Last image of my Cia character. I changed up her hair to see how she looked. She looks cute in pigtails! She's still wearing the same skin from Diva Remix which I think looks amazing with this lighting!

I need to put her in a proper scene next. Unfortunately, I have a deadline for a writing project coming up close so I'll have to leave it until the weekend. The clothes: SV's Gypsy Lace Tank by @Sveva and available at that other store. I love this shirt! The shorts are from the Genesis 8 Female Mega Wardrobe by @outoftouch. I used lighting by Papertiger from Rendo as well. There are some really great Iray lighting options over there. Just saying. :)

Not much postwork but what there is was in Gimp with the NikCollection (free version no longer available).

    What can I say?

Thank you, Mollytabby! It was really fun getting her to look how I wanted. I think this is the first time I sat down with just one single morph pack to make a character. There are so many different things to explore in the Rarestone morph packs. I have the ones for Genesis 8 Male and Genesis 8 Females, too. I'll be interested to see how they are different from the on for The Girl 8 morphs. I'm assuming I can created more realistic looking characters with them.

I'm not sure why the morphs for The Girl 8 aren't merchant resources, but the two morph packs for the base figures are merchant resources. Not that I plan to create a character for sale anytime soon. I just find it curious.

My oldest son comes back today! Yay! He was off white water rafting in Denver and then at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch this past two weeks hiking up a mountain. They are heading to the airport now and will be back home around 1:30 am late tonight/early tomorrow morning. It's going to be a really late night. I'll be SO happy to see him. I've really missed him.

I picked up the new Daz Cat today. This is my first render with him. Will be interesting to explore the new dFur. I'd like to see if it can grow longer for a Persian. Haven't figured that out yet. I'm partial to calicos so I rendered that first.

Lovely render of the updated Cat @Knittingmommy. I love what you've done. I picked it up yesterday but I'm still working in 4.10 at the moment so it's a future investment for me :)  I'm wating with interest from the sidelines, lol.

    Thanks. I think she's rather cute. :)

I upgraded last month. Wasn't going to but decided what the heck. I kept my old install of 4.10 just in case. I have all my old Dazfiles saved. Still have DS 4.5 on my laptop. I don't think I'll upgrade that because it runs the older atmospheric cameras by Age of Armor and I recently read they changed the files to take a couple of the cameras out that are broken under DS 4.11 which isn't good. Somewhere, I even have a copy of DS 3 which I've never used. But, I tracked it down because there were a couple of interesting things you could use in it that didn't work in the DS 4.5 version. I don't think I'll ever understand why previous versions of DS aren't kept around. It kind of sucks that they don't keep that capability. Most other companies keep older versions of software available.

It's been so long since I've posted anything in my thread. Yikes! I'm not sure how my life got so busy! I hadn't rendered anything in a long time. Recently, I was playing with making my own B&W HDRs for use in rendering inside DS. I've had fun figuring out how to make them inside Affinity Photo which I picked up over Black Friday last year. Anyway, I thought I'd post a few of my test renders here. No post work. Just a straight render with my HDRs and some modification of the tone mapping inside DS. I have one spotlight in the scene.
